- WASH Sector Coordination Meeting - MS Teams Meeting - Date: 28 September 2020 - WASH Sector, BRAC, CA, UNDP, ANANDO, Solidar Suisse, IOM, SCI, ICRC, DSK, NGOF, ECHO, WV, AGRAJATRA, UNICEF, ACF, HYSAWA, Welthungerhilfe, AR/EKATA, HEKS/EPER, DPHE Agenda: - Welcome / introduction (Julien/Ritthick 5min) - Update from DPHE on Government WASH projects (Asif/Ritthick – 15/20 min) - WASH sector priorities (until the end of the year) (Julien – 25/30 min) - WASH in Health updates: Covid-19 and AWD (Mariangela – 15/20 min) - SWM: landfill use (Marta – 10/12 min) - Finding from NPM: Needs and population monitoring (Tessa – 10/12 min) - AOB Agenda Discussion Action Points - A welcome note was shared by WASH Sector Coordinator and DPHE XEN. - It was mentioned that in the current situation, mini group meeting (maximum 10 people) at DPHE meeting room Welcome maintaining safety issues (hand washing, safe distance, temperature checking & mask using) could be held in coming weeks. WB funded EMCR project update: - Partners are requested to update DPHE before dry season - 4 Mobile Water Treatment Plant has arrived at DPHE from WB funded EMCR Project. The details about any potential locations of water refilling of the treatment plant was shared. - A suitable surface water source to commissioning it is under exploration process (Permanent - Within November 2020, the plant at camp 13 is expected to Update from structure/ source is preferred) be operational DPHE on ADB funded emergency assistance project update: Government - DPHE will share updated design of Omni-processor for WASH - In ADB Funded Emergency Assistance Project, Integrated Solid Waste Management Project at Camp 4 (Ext so that WASH sector can decentralize it among projects Camp 13 is expected to be complete by November 2020 & at Camp 04 (Ext.) by January 2021. other partners Omni-processor will be installed in these project areas. - Asif will be the focal person of observing GHWD 2020 & Water Tanker updates: National Sanitation Month. Partners are requested to avoid mass gathering during observing it. Interested volunteers with thematic expertise are requested to contribute SWM: landfill Sustainable solutions for Solid Waste: A Response to the Rohingya Crisis in Bangladesh use - Building value of waste is encouraged for WASH partners Temporary SW Facility in Ukhia Camps Ukhia TSWM facility (Camp 20ext): - Improvement of this approach (Waste Segregation), UPDATES: minimizing cost of transportation & environmental impact - Mega camp Cleaning campaign has been completed at 27 camps Ukhia in support with BRAC & PA could be discussed further at SWM TWG & also the collaboration of WASH & Site Management partners: in total 3,795m3 waste has been - UNDP is requested to organize online session / training in cleaned.
