04_TRANSPORTATION Bergen Light Rail Nesttun - Rådal section Bergen Light Rail | Photo: Jan Magne Sviland Bergen Light Rail consists of 20 km of double track from the city centre to the airport at Flesland, built in three project phases. Multiconsult was given the task of designing the second phase. The project forms part of the Bergen programme for transport, urban development and the environment, which aims to coordinate investment in public transport, environmental improvements, pedestrian and cycle paths and roads over the twenty-year period 2005-2025. The first project phase, comprising 10 km of double track between the city centre and Nesttun, entered service in summer 2010. The second phase between Nesttun and Rådal, consisting of 3.6 km of double track, was completed in 2013.
