The various activities organized from time to time, be it co-curricular or extracurricular will be a part of this newsletter. All important events planned will also be covered. Editor Ms. N. We earnestly seek suggestions for improvement. - Director Associate Editor STATE LEVEL SEMINAR OCTOBER 2017: Ms. T. Rama, Vice-Principal As a part of Centenary Celebrations of Osmania University, on a call given by the Vice- Chancellor, a State Level Seminar on “Financial Reforms in Indian Economy” was conducted on 27 October, 2017. The Chief Guest was Prof. S. Ramachandram, Vice-Chancellor, Osmania University. The Executive Editor seminar was inaugurated by him and in his address he urged the students to Ms. T. Radhika, Lecturer improve their skills and to develop the right attitude to succeed in life. Sri. Y.J. Venkata Rao, Chairman, VJIAS, presided over the inaugural session and Ms. T. Rama, vice principal, hosted the session. Sri G. Sarath Gopal, General Secretary, VJ, Sri. K. Harishchandra Prasad, Vice- Technical Editor President, VJ, and the Director Dr. Vijaya Prasad, addressed the gathering. Ms. V. Padmavathi, Ms. N. Aruna, principal, proposed the vote of thanks. Following the inaugural session the seminar had a plenary session, two technical sessions of Paper Presentations and one parallel session of Business Idea Competition and finally the Valedictory Session Asst. Satyanarayana, Chairman, BOS, Dept. of Commerce, Osmania University and Sri. Arun Luharuka, Senior Vice-President of FTAPCCI. The Session was hosted by Ms. A. Swapna, Lecturer of Computer Dept. The Session began with the presentation of the seminar theme by Ms. N. Aruna, Principal. A brief introduction of the Financial Reforms was given by Dr.A.S.Rao. Sri. Arun Luharuka and Prof. S.V. Prof. K.Satyanarayana gave valuable suggestions to students on how to be prepared for the challenges in the current economy and to be skilled in various fields so that they can have more career opportunities. The Plenary session concluded with a question & answer session where students posed a volley of questions to the speakers to get their doubts clarified. Ms. G. Patrick, Department of Commerce, Osmania University. The Judge was Ms. Nalini, faculty of Commerce, Dewan Bahadur Padmarao Mudaliar College for Women, Secunderabad. In all, 23 teams of 38 students from 11 different colleges and 3 faculty, 2 from Kasturba Gandhi College and 1 from Aurora Degree & PG College presented papers. Prof. Patrick gave concluding remarks. The session started with the opening remarks by Prof. V. Usha Kiran. The Judge for the session was Ms. Nalini. Shankariah Dean, in his address, advised students to concentrate on and explore the current market where they have more opportunities for employment. WORKSHOP ON ENTREPRENEURSHIP AT NSIC: All final year students accompanied by two faculty members, Ms. Radhika & Ms. Divya, and Mr. Sravan, attended a workshop on Entrepreneurship at National Small Industries Corporation. The students were given information on how to get funding for small businesses and how they can be helped by NSIC to start their own businesses. NSS STUDENTS AT “RALLY FOR RIVERS”: Guruji Sri Jaggi Vasudev of Isha Foundation has started a movement called ‘Rally for Rivers’ to create awareness among the people of India on the condition of rivers and to save the rivers in India which are gradually drying up. The aim of the campaign is to garner support from the citizens for the cause of the rivers and to get the government to take steps to save the rivers. Volunteers from different institutions and organizations participated in the campaign to spread the word. Our NSS students participated in the program near Patny Centre on 01-09-2017. NSS Students at “Rally for Rivers” – program near Patny Centre TEACHERS’ DAY Sarvepalli Radhakrishnan’s birthday is celebrated as Teachers Day on September 5th. On this occasion the VJIAS management celebrated Teachers’ Day in college by getting a cake cut by the faculty and honored teachers by giving them small gifts.
