LIFE in LINDEN • LINDEN HIGH SCHOOL MARCHING BAND Page 4 • October 2013 GREAT EATS AT Linden High School Marching Band used the Linden High School Marching Band’s 34th opportunity to raise money for their trip to consecutive spring trip representing Linden SEPT 2 REMEMBER march in the National Memorial Day Parade in outside of the tri- state area. Washington DC, on May 26, 2014. September to remember featured great food The band has been selected to represent New from Linden restaurants including newly opened Jersey. They were nominated by Congressman Cent’Anni. Donald Payne Jr. and selected by the official parade committee. The parade consists of select marching bands and veterans’ organizations from all 50 states, marching bands from each branch of the military and numerous floats. It will be nationally syndicated to more than 80 million households on The Pentagon Channel and Discovery Network’s Military Channel. More importantly, it will be broadcast live to all the American Troops stationed around the world. In addition, more than 250,000 people watch the parade live each year and it is covered by 400 media outlets. The award winning and nationally recognized school recently opened their third location at 2117 Grier Avenue in Linden. Owner and Master Instructor Elshikh completely renovated the Linden school to fit the curriculum and excellence of their other locations in Woodbridge and Carteret.
