PTI states that they have attempted to work with SawStop to incorporate similar technology into table saws manufactured by various other companies. PTI was unable to reach an agreement with SawStop on licensing the technology for other table saw manufacturers. Members from the Power Tool Institute provided demonstrations of their table saws that incorporate newly designed blade guards which meet the UL 987 safety standard. The group urged the commission not to proceed to mandatory rulemaking with SawStop technology. .
