JAWATANKUASA PEGUAM PULAU PINANG PENANG BAR COMMITTEE Court Liaison 4/20 10 Feb 2020 To Members of the Penang Bar, Road Closures in conjunction with Le Tour de Langkawi on 12 Feb 2020 We have been informed by Puan Zaharah Binti Hussain, Director of the Penang Courts that pursuant to an informal notification from the Police there will be road closures affecting the means of ingress and egress to and from the Penang Court Complex (High Court) and Bangunan Sri Pinang (Georgetown Subordinate Courts) in conjunction with Le Tour de Langkawi bicycle race event on 12 Feb 2020 (Wed). The affected roads are Light Street, Jalan Tun Syed Sheh Barakbah and other adjoining roads whereby the closures are expected to be between 7:00 am to 7:00 pm. Members are further informed as follows: For the main Penang Court Complex, only the gate at Farquhar Street (facing St George’s Church) will be open on that day. For Bangunan Sri Pinang, members who have matters in the Georgetown Subordinate Courts are advised to inform the police officers on duty as such, if necessary. Remand proceedings for Georgetown will be held at the central lock-up in Balai Polis Bayan Baru. Members are advised to check online or with the relevant authorities for further and regular updates regarding the road closures and exercise caution and safety when entering and exiting the Court compounds.
