Charleville Arriving in time to explore by bus the wonderful town of Charleville situated in the heart of the Mulga Country on the banks of the Warrego River, with its famous Historic Hotel Corones and the Royal Flying Doctors Service. Visit the Cosmo Observatory and explore the Australian night sky. Birdsville Birdsville is a small outback town situated on the Banks of the Diamantina River between the sands of the Simpson Desert and the gibbers of Sturts Stony Desert. You will have time to explore this famous town and go on the Big Red Sunset Tour with a bottle of Big Red. Arkaroola After a spectacular flight over Lake Eyre north we fly to William Creek in time for lunch. It is the smallest settlement in SA, situated half way point of the ruggedly famous Oodnadatta Track. William Creek use to be a station on the original “Ghan” railway and lays only 20klms from Anna Creek Station, known as the largest cattle Station in the world. William Creek Pub is made from the old sleepers of the Ghan Railway. After departing William Creek we fly across Lake Eyre south to Arkaroola, unique to the Flinders Ranges in South Australia. Arkaroola Resort and Wilderness Sanctuary is in spectacular rugged mountains of the Flinders Range. Enjoy a Ridge top Tour and view the Northern Ranges across the white expanse of Lake Frome to the desert beyond. White Cliffs We depart Arkaroola for a short flight to White Cliffs which has a last frontier kind of appeal. Its quirky, laconic residents have many stories to tell of the wealth won and lost. White Cliffs is one of the famous opal towns of the world. Experience the wonderful underground accommodation available in White Cliffs. Lightning Ridge Lightning Ridge is most famous for its Black Opal, but the Ridge as the locals call it also has a wonderful reputation for being fascinating, friendly and a whole lot of fun.
