Letter of Registration and Return August 2017 Greetings, The following is the Letter of Registration and Return for August 2017. During this transition some submissions may have been loss in the effort. Please send all submissions directly to this office at [email protected]. Item 1. The Imperial Crown in conjunction with the Estates had directed in March 2017 for the College to accept email addresses of submitters as validation of intent of submission in place of signature when the need arises. Signatures are still favored, yet when utilizing solely electronic means of submission such is acceptable. To fulfill this effort Barone Francesco Gaetano Gréco d'Edessa has created a new Submission form; please use this for all future submissions. It is available on the yahoo group as well as will be on the main website. Item 2. Until such a time as there are volunteers within the College who would be capable and willing to follow the basic heraldic principals, the College will not be creating Images for the online Armorial. Persons may submit a clean graphic keeping in the heraldic style (primary colors, ect…) Item 3. It is clear in many of the returns being made within this letter, that local review of the heraldry manual is not happening before being passed on to the College. While we appreciate that there are always new people learning and growing, there is still a need of at least due diligence when serving as a minister. Basic concept violations as well as lack of effort in even filling out the form or making sure it is filled out are in gross evidence. As such no submission will be reviewed if the required information is not filled out. Item 4. A Valknut is not a period charge and as such will not be registered as such. The concept of three triangles voided and interlaced does fall within the science of heraldic practice though. Returned: The Triskelion presented was not a heraldic charge within our period A triskelion is a design first used in classical Greek art, with three embowed limbs conjoined in pall. The name derives from the Greek tri, skelos, “three legs”; the classical form does indeed use three bent legs, conjoined at the thighs. However, mundane armory doesn’t tend to use this term in blazon; most instances of triskelions are blazoned as “three arms” or “three legs” conjoined, and listed as such in mundane ordinaries. (The illustration shows the legs in armor, as in the arms of the Kings of the Isle of Man, c.1275 [ANA2 478].) The one presented falls under a religious practice and the characterization of the triskelion gammadion in annulo”. (The latter form, having been adopted by certain white supremacist groups, is no longer registerable. Versions and styles of such shall also not be registered. 77-02 Cait’s Claw Estate Per Fess Sable and Gules dovetailed, in a base a lion couchant Or Return; V.B.b, b.
