In addition to the chart, a JPEG on parch- ment as well as a PDF have been formatted for free distribution in Bible Studies (26), Faith Sharing Groups (27), Church Bulletin Inserts and Personal Discipleship (28) Encounters. + + + + + + + + + One chart column refers to the respective year of death. An exception is the case of Enoch (7), who did not die a mortal's death: (a) Genesis 5:24 Enoch walked faithfully with God; then he was no more, because God took him away (ed note: see also Hebrews 11:5). + + + + + + + + + Support indicating Noah (10) was 502, not 500, when Shem (11) was born: (b) www.answersingenesis.org/contradictions-in-the-bible/my-three-sons/ Genesis 5:32 After Noah was 500 years old, he became the father of Shem, Ham and Japheth. This indicates that Noah was 500 or just over when his first son was born. Listings such as these are rarely an indication of ages but shows that Noah began having children when He was 500 (Genesis 11:26). The listing of children often started with most important one (through Shem, we receive the blessing of Christ). We know the relative ages of each from Genesis 10:21 and Genesis 9:24: Genesis 10:21 Sons were also born to Shem, whose older brother was Japheth; Shem was the ancestor of all the sons of Eber. Genesis 9:24 When Noah awoke from his wine and found out what his youngest son (Ham) had done to him. Genesis 10:21 indicates that Japheth was the oldest and was born when Noah was 500 years old. Ham is the youngest, as indicated in Genesis 9:24, after Ham’s inappropriate actions to his father. Therefore, Shem had to be born in between Japheth and Ham. Shem wasn’t born as a triplet or twin of Japheth when Noah was 500, as shown by Genesis 7:6 and Genesis 11:10. Genesis 7:6 Noah was six hundred years old when the floodwaters came on the earth Genesis 11:10 This is the account of Shem. Two years after the flood, when Shem was 100 years old, he became the father of Arphaxad. www.marionmannaproject.com/bible-genealogy-genesis 2 THE MARION COUNTY MANNA PROJECT BIBLICAL GENEALOGY (GENESIS) So, Noah was 600 when the floodwaters came on the earth, and two years later Shem was 100. Therefore, Shem had to be born to Noah when he was 502. We are not sure of Ham’s exact age in Scripture, but he had to be born after Shem. Thus, Genesis 5:32 introduces us to Noah’s sons all together, and other passages give more detail about their birth order and age. + + + + + + + + + Support indicating Terah (20) was 130 years of age, not 70, when Abraham (Abram) (21) was born: (c) Genesis 11:26 After Terah had lived 70 years, he became the father of Abram, Nahor and Haran. (d) Genesis 11:32 Terah lived 205 years, and he died in Harran. (e) Acts 7:4 So he (edit note: Abram) left the land of the Chaldeans and settled in Harran. After the death of his father (edit note: see Genesis 11:32), God sent him to this land where you are now living. (f) Genesis 12:4 So Abram went, as the Lord had told him; and Lot went with him. Abram was seventy-five years old when he set out from Harran. + + + + + + + + + End of the line: (g) Genesis 30:22-24 indicates the ability to accurately track dates/years of additional generations ceases with Jacob (23). + + + + + + + + + See all Footnotes on page 4.
