Abilene Eisenhower Foundation $3,500 "Ike’s Soldiers Online Interactive Exhibit: Stories from World War II Veterans" Preservation project to edit and archive first-person interviews of WWII veterans for an online exhibit, "Ike's Soldiers." Arkansas City Arkansas City Area Arts Council $1,000 "Virtual Burford Theatre" A series of social media events from the Burford Theatre to engage the community, including an online discussion of music history in Kansas, a tour of the historic theatre, and an interactive online humanities contest. Ashland Ashland Library "Clark County's Response to COVID-19" $1,000 An oral history project recording Clark County's response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Council Grove Morris County Historical Society "Virtual Tours of Council Grove's House Museums" $1,000 Virtual tours of the Seth Hays House and the FX Hebrank House. The stories introduce the larger Santa Fe Trail story and Council Grove's significant role on the trail. Dodge City Boot Hill Museum "New Connections to the Old West" $1,000 An online video series providing an extensive tour of the People of the Plains building, including artifacts relating to American Indians, Victorian fashion, and cowboy culture. Emporia Emporia Public Library "COVID-19 Stories from Lyon County" $500 Oral history project for Lyon County residents that centers on how the COVID-19 pandemic has affected people's lives. Fort Scott Life in a Jar Foundation "African American Suffragists: Kansas Heroes for Equality" $2,230 Exhibition, book discussions, and events celebrating the work of Kansans Carrie Hughes and Mamie Dillard, strong advocates for women's suffrage and African American equality. Holton Jackson County Historical and Genealogical Society "Reflections: Jackson County's Response to COVID-19" $1,000 Oral history interviews documenting the experiences of Jackson County residents during Covid-19. Kansas City Kansas City Latin Jazz Orchestra $1,000 "Kansas City Legacy Bandleaders in the Time of COVID-19" An oral history project to document the stories of jazz bandleaders who have had a significant impact on the musical heritage of the Kansas City region. Larned Santa Fe Trail Association $1,000 "'The Santa Fe Trail Lives On!' Podcast" A podcast to commemorate the 200th anniversary of the Santa Fe Trail. Lawrence Freedom's Frontier National Heritage Area $1,000 "Portals to the Past" Online presentations by historical reenactors designed to provide history organizations with programming during the Covid-19 pandemic.
