Job Description Job Title: Limerick Museums & Limerick Gallery Public Engagement Programme Coordinator Scale €30,000 to €35,000 depending on experience Contract Temporary contract from March to December 2021 Full time (40hrs) Reports to: Hunt Museum Curator of Education & Outreach Working hours & Monday to Friday, 9am to 5pm, with occasional evenings and weekends holidays Job Purpose To consolidate and further develop the Three Muses joint public engagement programme enabling greater access, enjoyment and ownership of the three collections across The Hunt Museum, Limerick Museum and Limerick City Gallery of Art (LCGA), by primary schools, children and their families. Main Accountabilities 1. Visual Arts Programming 1.1 Build on the successful Three Muses brand, facilitating flexible cross curricular primary school visual art programming with a strong emphasis on the development of digital learning activities and resources. The programme will enable pupils to explore and connect with artworks, exhibitions and relevant objects across all three cultural venues 1.2 Enhance the programme’s participatory culture by planning and delivering learning and engagement opportunities which enable pupils to share their knowledge of, and perspectives on, artworks and exhibitions. 1.3 Consolidate relationships with primary school teachers to ensure programme design is aligned with classroom and remote teaching and learning contexts. 1.4. Build on the existing programme of evaluation measuring the impact of this programme on pupils, teachers and community. 1.5 Harness and adapt learning content created through 1.1. and 1.2 for non formal learning with and participation by children and families 1.6 Plan and deliver training for museum and gallery interns and/or other volunteers wishing to support programme delivery. 1.7 Implement the Hunt Museum’s Child and Vulnerable Adult policy and procedures and other relevant policies when delivering this project. 1 2. Programme Management & Administration 2.1 Finalise and implement an action plan for the delivery and evaluation of this programme 2.2 Grow primary school participation in all aspects of this programme 2.3 Collaborate with external organisations to facilitate innovation around digital learning 2.4 Liaise with primary schools and staff at the three cultural institutions to coordinate and deliver programme activities and events. Relevant procedures must be followed to book workshop space and where necessary staff expertise. 2.5 Creation and preparation of learning and interpretative materials required for all programme activities 2.6 Record and report all participation in the programme 2.7 Financial Management; budget maintenance, following relevant Hunt Museum procedures in regard to purchasing and the payment of suppliers, assisting with funding applications. 3. Programme Promotion 3.1 Work with the Education Team and Marketing and Communications staff at the Hunt Museum as well as different external stakeholders to plan, schedule and deliver publicity materials and social media campaigns targeting schools, families and the general public 3.2 Facilitate and deliver high quality digital content with pupils, to include video and blogs, which can be used on the Hunt Museum’s website and on Limerick.ie 3.3 Be prepared to represent the programme and its cultural partners at promotional events and relevant conferences.
