Followed by Q&A 10:50 Quick fire participants POLL – with result 10.55 Housing conditions in the North - the current reality Sue Adams, OBE, CEO of Care & Repair England In this session Sue will set out headline facts and figures about non-decent homes, related housing issues in the North, health impacts and potential ‘win, win’ opportunities for action, including: • Non decent homes – the headline data • Costs to NHS and other impacts around health, social and the environment • Win-win action that can address multiple issues IN RECOVERY: IMPROVING HOMES, IMPROVING LIVES 11.10 Lockdown, Rundown and Breakdown Research and the importance of home Professor Phil Brown, Professor of Housing & Communities, University of Huddersfield In this session Phil will share findings of a piece of University of Huddersfield and NHC research into the reality of living in a non-decent home during lockdown, with a particular focus on older and vulnerable groups. 11.25 In the driving seat: The value of a local, integrated approach to improving homes and lives in the Northern regions. These Northern leaders will each provide a quick-fire view of the value of improving the local housing stock.
