The Council of the Township of North Kawartha received a Community Delegation at the regular meeting of Council held on January 5, 2016. As a result of the serious concerns brought forward to Council by the Delegation, Council passed the following motion: "That Council receives the presentation from Mary Brown; and further appoints Councillor Jim O'Shea as the Municipal Representative for the Township of North Kawartha to oppose the closure of Lakefield District lmmediate / Secondary School and to put forward the concerns heard today." The motion was carried unanimously. Councillor O'Shea has attended Accommodation Review meetings in a voluntary capacity and welcomes the opportunity to work with the Accommodation Review Committee.
