The Cinema provides an immersive experience that includes an impressive sound system and crystal clear 4K picture projected on the largest screen in Central PA. With a screen that stands at a towering four stories high, audiences will feel like they’ve been transported to a galaxy far, far away. “We are incredibly excited to show another Star Wars film this December,” said Steve Bishop, Vice President of Science & Cinema Programs at Whitaker Center. “Last year we showed The Force Awakens and we’re thrilled to offer audiences the chance to see Rogue One as well. With its four story screen, 5 channel, 20,000 watt surround sound system and incredibly sharp digital image, our Cinema was made to show films such as these.” Rogue One is the first Star Wars standalone film from Lucasfilm. It follows an unlikely band of heroes, called the Rebellion, who embark on a mission to steal the plans to the Empire’s Death Star. This important piece of Star Wars history weaves a story of ordinary people choosing to do extraordinary things while fighting against the Empire’s threat of destruction. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story 3D will begin showing at Whitaker Center on Thursday evening, December 15 with two special preview shows at 7:30pm and 10:15pm. Tickets are on sale now at whitakercenter.org and at the Whitaker Center Box Office. Ticket prices are $11.75 for Juniors (age 3 – 17) and $13.75 for Adults (age 18+). Whitaker Center members, military personnel and groups of 10 or more are eligible for discounted tickets by calling 214-ARTS or purchasing at the Whitaker Center Box Office.
