CATALYST PORT ALBERNI MILL Located at the head of picturesque Alberni Inlet on the west coast of Vancouver Island, British Columbia, Catalyst Port Alberni Mill is the single largest employer in the community. Commissioned in 1946, Catalyst Port Alberni Mill was the first British Columbia mill to integrate residuals from sawmills. Committed to environmental sustainability, 95% of Port Alberni’s energy comes from renewable sources with an 88% reduction in greenhouse gases since 1990.
