It has been observed that in opposition and Rectification cases, both the parties or their Agents/Advocates make requests on Form TM-56 for Extension of time, which are liberally granted to the parties. This practice not only delays the disposal of cases, but also results in accumulation of work. In order to discourage this practice, it is notified for general information that no unnecessary extension of time will be allowed except substantiated by cogent and convincing reasons and that mere collection of data or compilation of paper would not be sufficient reasons for asking such extension.
