Record Dominic King Clocks 3:55:48 for 50km to go Race Walking second on British all-time list October 2016 Race Walking Record – October 2016 Welsh Athletics Awards 2016 Bethan Davies was awarded the Female Endurance Athlete of the Year after an excellent season. Bethan was unbeaten in all her domestic races which included the Welsh Championships, Indoor and Outdoor British Championships and Manchester International. Although just missing out on selection for the 2016 Olympics, her times from this year put her in second place on the all-time rankings for the 3000m walk, 10k walk and 20k walk, and she is now 20 seconds clear of the second ranked athlete on the all-time indoor 3000m walk, where she holds the British record. Carl Dohmann won the German 50km title in a personal best 3:47:57. Behind him, 20-year-old Karl Junghannß recorded 3:52:46 on his debut over 50km. Dominic King finished fourth in a personal best and UK lead of 3:55:48 to go second on the British all-time list, securing a qualifying time for the 2017 IAAF World Championships. Norbert Will was a clear winner in the M80 13 Carrie Oliver GBR 38:23.57 age group. The M65 age group was always going to be a head to head between W60 5000m (27th Oct.) Briton Ian Richards and the stylish Mexican Jose Lopez Camarena, Posn Athlete Nation Perf especially as Australian Andrew Jamieson had moved out of the age 1 Barbara Nell RSA 27:32.00 group. The Mexican went out hard and straight into the lead ahead 2 Lynette Ventris AUS 27:51.27 of world record pace with Richards chasing hard. Although the Mexican tired Ian had to settle for silver in his fastest time for two 3 Barbara Bryant AUS 28:53.58 years and the satisfaction that he is still the world record holder.
