The Canadian Food Inspection Agency has declared multiple watersheds in Alberta “infected” with whirling disease. Whirling disease may not be present in all waterbodies within a declared watershed. The confirmed red zones are the waterbodies where provincial monitoring detected whirling disease. This is effective as of April 25, 2018. Provincial monitoring is ongoing.
