Has Landed. It was a gloriously hot sum- 1mer and my abiding memory is of Michael Caine disappearing to his trailer in between takes to watch Wimbledon. He kept giving us updates on the scores. Call my midwife, 1990 My son Jonathan was born on Christmas Day in 1990. He arrived a 2month early and took my husband John and I by surprise. We didn’t have a pram or a sin- gle nappy in the house! Off the rails, 1970 I have such fond memories of mak- ! ing The Railway Children. The director 3Lionel Jeffries was determined to treat us as children, even though we were working. He used to give us each half a crown when a scene went well. I was 17 and Sally Thomsett, who was a bit older, would say, ‘Great! That’s going towards the next drink in the pub!’ 4 Sister act, 2013 Here I am as Sister Julienne in Call The Midwife, but for some reason I look 4like an ancient, grumpy hamster! I look very fed up which is not her character at all. This year’s Christmas special focuses on an unex- ploded bomb and is all about the horror that war leaves behind. It’s a real tearjerker… but I mustn’t reveal too much! That’s my girl, 1967 ! I was coming up for 15 when I played Julie Andrews’ daughter in the film 5Star! I remember being incredibly impressed by her because she was such a star herself. Her little daughter was on set and got quite upset with me. She said, “Will you tell that girl to stop calling you Mummy!” RANT ARCHIVE/ALLSTAR/BBC G 1985 Limited, Newspapers Associated © damage. or loss for liability any accept agents its nor Sunday on Mail The neither risk; owner’s the at sent are submitted materials other any or transparencies Colour Sunday. on Mail The to supplement a forms Event Group.
