android icon downloading don't turn off target "downloading do not turn off target" Yeah it happened to me last night as well. Idk how my phone battery died and when I turned it on it went to that screen. Sent from my Galaxy Nexus using Tapatalk 2. Freaked me out. thought some sort of virus or something! Paranoia. big destroyah. Rebooted, pulled battery out and then reset. all ok! Actually Odin is a windows program used to flash .tar files to the phone. These tar files can be radios, recoverys, kernels or even roms. I still have odin from my Fascinate and charge days. Since cwm/twrp and the fastboot system with the nexus devices work so well, we have little need for odin. I know this is like yeaarrsssss already. BUT we're u able to fix your tablet? The same thing happening to my Note 10.1 N8000. It's an old tablet, I know. However, I never change into new ones. Now it's happening to me. ODIN MODE. Downloading do not turn off target. Is there anyone having this problem and successfully fix it?? I couldn't open the tablet to pull out the battery. And no, there's no home button on my tablet too. All I did was pressing the power button and volume. Nothing happened. It keeps like this. S7 Edge stuck on "Downloading. Do Not Turn off Target". Hi, Got my S7 Edge a week ago and love it, but have just encountered a problem and need some help! I've been a long term iphone user, and this is my first android phone so have no idea whats happened here lol. I was driving and the battery was nearly dead on my S7, so reached down and turned it off. Just got home and picked it up, and it is stuck on a green screen with a message saying "Downloading. Do Not Turn off Target" in the middle and in the top left it says: FACTORY MODE DOWNLOADING SPEED: FAST PRODUCT NAME: SM-G935F CURRENT BINARY: Samsung Official SYSTEM STATUS: Official FAP LOCK: ON Secure Download: Enabled WARRANTY VOID: 0 (0x0000) RP SWREV: B: 1 K:0 S:0. Please help me! The phone is completely standard and not been altered so no idea what this is :-( EDIT: Ok got my phone to reboot by pressing and holding the Volume Down, Home and Power buttons as described on another thread while googling the problem! The phone has rebooted and all seems normal, but I'd still like to know what caused it and what the message meant?? Cheers. I have the same problem . What can I do? No button responds . I have the same problem . What can I do? No button responds . This is for the galaxy S6 but it's the same procedures for the S7. I've experienced this same issue on a Note 4. Had the phone for a year and a half. Absolutely love it, no issues with any OS, upgrades or battery. No recent apps added but there was a recent OS automatic update. As far as I can tell, no virus issues detected by my anti-virus/malware app. After having phone plugged in all night, first noticed in the morning that battery level only showed 17%. Unusual since fast charge gets me 50%+ in half hour. I hit the power button and immediately got the Android screen with the "Do Not Turn Off Downloading Target" message. At the top, the first line (in red) displayed a 'could not boot in normal mode' message. Found the reboot process online and it worked. Unfortunately, this message has occurred at least a two dozen times now (in the span of 3 days). Even rebooting using the power/down volume button combination doesn't work all the time. Removing the battery restores the phone but not immediately and not every time. I had a Samsung rep reload Marshmallow 6.0.1 (it took 3 attempts before a successful upload) after doing a factory reset and wiping out my data. Guess what. NO HELP. I thought a clean install would be the sure fix but I guess not. Within 2 hrs of reloading the OS from scratch the message returned. I've also noticed that my phone is a little hotter than normal so I'm going to change out the battery just to eliminate as a possible cause. The phone is charged with the OEM charger but I'm replacing that also to eliminate that as a possibility. I'm beginning to wonder if the latest OS is part of the issue. Any comments/suggestions are welcome. I see this is quite an issue, inconvenience and expense for many so I'll update if something works or doesn't work. Downloading. Do not turn off target!! So I have the same issues others are having with not being able to update on my rooted N10 except, I can't go into recovery. About Me: Rooted Nexus 10> Running Stock JB 4.2.1> When I hold down the power and down button I go into the bootloader and it says "Downloading. Do not turn off target!!" and it will just stay on this screen. I can't toggle anything, up and down buttons do not work to go into recovery, reset bootloader, start device etc.. But I can hold the power button down and then restart the device and everything works fine. How do I go about this? My only thinking is that I am going to have to go into ADB, but I'm not even sure if that's going to work. Well I feel like an *****. Didn't know that there was a separate "download mode". I must have gotten mixed up because on my N7 and N4 I believe both of those are Power + Volume down to boot to recovery. Thanks for the info, by the way I tried what you said - (Power + Volume Up) twice and it only restarted the tablet. I then did Power + BOTH Volume up and down and it booted into recovery.. Silly me. I'll give you a thanks anyway, since it did help me get to where I wanted. Thanks for the quick response guys, a mod can lock this if need be. I finally ended up pulling my battery and I was okay. I'm not sure if I was just lucky or what. Anyways, hopefully someone will give a technical answer. I have this problem about my newly purchased Samsung phone from Globe (a service provider here in the Philippines) about two months ago. It was bundled with one of their postpaid plans. The unit is SAMSUNG GALAXY S DUOS GT-S7562. I hope anyone who is familiar or has encountered the same problem can give me an idea of what is happening with my phone. I was referred by my service provider to a service center but I havent visited it yet since the shop is far from my workplace and Im too busy with my work. The first problem is about the battery charging. The battery charging during the first month was good. I would normally turn the phone off every time I would charge the battery. And theres this battery icon that appears and shows that the battery is charging. So thats the normal thing. It was good. But after a month, I noticed that it takes long before the charging begins. Sometimes it would take an hour or two or even four hours before it begins charging. I checked the charger but I dont think its the problem since its working on my other Samsung phones. I have tried several Samsung chargers too but still they would not work on my phone. The other problem is about this android image which suddenly appears on the screen when the phone is off. It says that something is downloading and warns not to turn off the target! But how could that be? Theres no internet connection whatsoever since the phone is turned off! I dont get it. Please anyone help me with this. The one-month replacement warranty has passed which means that my service provider would not replace my unit with a new one. i cant turn on my phone after doing these steps Please follow the steps below: 1. Turn off your phone 2. Remove battery and SIM card (if you have SIM card in your phone) 3. Wait 5 minutes 4. Replace SIM card and battery but not SD card 5. Press and hold Power button for 20 seconds. and i also cant get into the recovery mood after pressing volume up, power, home button. my phone is samsung note 1..help me pls.. >< Before we start, please let me explain how this service works: Electronics troubleshooting is not always easy and sometimes I will not be able to solve your problem immediately, so if my first answer does not solve your problem or you need more information please do not rate my answer negative BAD SERVICE or POOR SERVICE (that will result in a permanent negative feedback on my record).
