Dinesh Gupta I am pleased to inform that ASSOCHAM Council President felicitated our Chamber at function organised on 24th June, 2016

at Ahmadabad for outstanding contribution for the development of

glorious Gujarat and would like to highlight other current Babubhai B. Humbal developments as under: Vice President  Hon. Minister of Shipping Shri Nitin Gadkari visited Kandla Port & Gandhidham on 31.05.2016 and made announcements for Kandla Port’s Development significantly furniture hub cluster & edible oil hub. It is worth noting that some of the development measurers Murlidhar B. Jagani announced are what GCCI was perusing since long. GCCI’s delegation attended the official Hon. Secretary function and welcome him and grab opportunity to request him for a personal meeting of GCCI’s delegation at Delhi to discuss various pending issues of Kandla – Gandhidham complex. After his flying visit, now all expect quick line of actions from KPT to materialize the announcement at Ground Zero. Aashish S. Secretary this reform move particularly in defence sector generates scope and hope for the establishment

of production facility for defence items in Kandla Complex.

 BREXIT is a blow to globalization and its impact on world trade and economy will be known Rewa R. Kalwani in coming days only. Treasurer  GDP grew at 7.6% in 2015-2016 after strong 7.9% Q4 growth which reinforces position of Indian Economy as the world’s fastest growing economy.

EVENTS

PGVCL’s Review Meeting on 7.6.2016

A regular review meeting between GCCI and PGVCL, Gandhidham officials was organised on 7th June, 2016. The meeting was convened by then Executive Engineer Shri V. K. Maheshwari. Various PGVLC’s officers were also present in this meeting. From GCCI side, Hon. Secretary Shri Murlidhar Jagani, Treasurer Sri Rewabhai Kalwani, Past President Shri Parasamal Nahta, and Managing Committee Members Shri Mahadev Rajani & Shri Rajubhai Chandnaani attended the meeting.

Nearly 8-10 people / industrialist represented their problems and got the prompt solutions from PGVCL. Other issues also represented by GCCI like development of underground cabling in Gandhidham – area, establishment of separate sub-division for Adipur area, establishment of separate sub-station for DC-5 area, generate 2nd source of power supply for Adipur – Gandhidham complex, supply of uninterrupted power to industries of Kachchh district.

Various other issues presented by the industries of Bhachau and its nearby areas. But unfortunately the appropriate authority was not present in this meeting. Hence, it was concluded that to plan a special review meeting with the officials of PGVCL’s Bhachau in near future.

It was also decided to hold review meeting regularly in the last week of every month.

A talk on Family Business

A talk was organised on the subject of “Emerging competition & its implication for Family Business” on 23rd June, 2016. The speech was given by Dr. Hitesh Shukla, Professor, Department of Business Management from Saurashtra University.

The programme was presided by Hon. Secretary Shri Murlidhar Jagani. He felicitated the guest with flowers and Shri Anil Jain, Member Managing Committee had given a brief introduction of the speaker. Dr. Shukla explained the importance of Family Business in the context of current business scenario. Large number of entrepreneur, students and public had attended this informative talk.

Delegation’s Visit

 President Shri Dinesh Gupta, Hon. Secretary, Shri Murlidhar Jagani, Hon. Joint Secretary Shri Ashish Joshi, Treasurer Shri Rewabhai Kalwani, Past Vice President Shri Nanadlal Goyal, Past Treasurer Shri Mahesh Puj and Managing Committee Member Shri Dhaval K. Acharya paid a goodwill visit with newly appointed Kachchh Collector Shri Mukul Gandhi, IAS on 30th May, 2016 at his Bhuj Office. President Shri Gupta hope that the Kachchh will benefited by Shri Gandhi’s unique perception and experience. The team has also invited him to take a visit of Chamber Bhavan. Minister of Shipping & Road Transport Shri Nitin Gadkari on this recent visit at Kandla – Gandhidham complex in the programmed arranged by Kandla Port Trust at Hotel Redission on 31st May, 2016 and requested him to permit time for audience at Delhi to resolve pending issues of Gandhidham – Adipur twin city, Smart Industrial Port City and development of Kandla Port.

 The Associated Chambers of Commerce and Industry of India, Western Region Office, Ahmadabad had celebrated its Annual Foundation Day on 24th June, 2016 at Ahmadabad. In this function, ASSOCHAM had felicitated GCCI, on its outstanding contribution for the development of glorious Gujarat. President Shri Dinesh Gupta had accepted the memento on behalf of the GCCI community. Hon. Secretary – Shri Murlidhar Jagani, Hon. Jt. Secretary – Shri Aashish Joshi, Treasure – Shri Rewabhi Kalwani, Members – Shri Anil Jain, Shri Dhaval Acharay & Shri Jayesh Anam had attended the function.

 Promoting coastal shipping of just six commodities, including coal, cement and steel, could result in a huge Rs 40,000 crore annual saving, according to government estimates. Of the total, coastal shipping of thermal coal alone could result in savings of about Rs 20,000 crore while promoting steel and cement would save an annual Rs 5,500 crore and Rs 4,000 crore, an official said. Know Your PAN

 Out of the first five characters, the FIRST THREE characters represent the alphabetic series running from AAA to ZZZ.

 The FOURTH character of PAN represents the status of the PAN holder.

"P" stands for Individual "C" stands for Company "H" stands for Hindu Undivided Family (HUF) "A" stands for Association of Persons (AOP) "B" stands for Body of Individuals (BOI) "G" stands for Government Agency "J" stands for Artificial Juridical Person "L" stands for Local Authority "E" stands for Limited Liability Partnership "F" stands for Firm "T" stands for Trust

 FIFTH character of PAN represents the first character of the PAN holder's last name/surname in case of an individual. In case of non-individual PAN holder fifth character represents the first character of PAN holder's name.

 NEXT FOUR characters are sequential numbers running from 0001 to 9999.

 LAST CHARACTER, i.e., the tenth character is an alphabetic check digit.
