ATR VERDICT: CASTRA VETERA is a smart hurdles recruit and might win this potentially hot maiden hurdle. She has won three bumpers, the latest coming at Listed level, and while her only defeat was in a hot Grade 2 bumper in February, she is National Hunt bred and coming from a leading yard, should go very well on jumps debut. Royal Illusion is another good jumps recruit who debuts for the champion trainer. She won two bumpers and three Flat races, was rated 94 on the level, and while very much a latecomer to jumps (having made her career debut aged six), should provide the selection with strong opposition. Roseys Hollow has strong claims also as she has previous hurdles experience and is similarly smart. She did well to win on bumper debut, was a good third in a smart race at Leopardstown in March (a subsequent Grade 3 winner was second), and she should get involved on reappearance. Delvino is herself a useful type and while she looks sure to do better over jumps, this is a big step up from her Down Royal bumper win. Smart Flat performer Teofonic is best watched following a long layoff.

ATR VERDICT: UNOHU demonstrated his effectiveness at this venue when landing a 2m maiden hurdle with the minimum of fuss two weeks ago. If seeing out this longer trip, Tom Lacey's five-year-old could make light work of an opening mark of 122 now making his handicap debut. Rio Quinto has the ability needed to figure if match fit on his belated return, while River Frost won over fences off 2lb higher in August and looks fairly treated over timber.

ATR VERDICT: Progressive ONEKNIGHTMOREIHOPE might prove best having caused a kerfuffle at Limerick 13 days ago. He showed little in point-to-points and maiden hurdles but did improve in handicap hurdles in recent weeks. His Limerick run was noteworthy in that the stewards suspended his inexperienced rider for 10 days for an injudicious ride (when he seemed to badly overcook a waiting ride) and while raised 4lb for that run, is open to some more improvement. She's Commanche was a well-backed winner at Fairyhouse in October and having run well from her revised mark subsequently, has an obvious chance here. Dual point-to-point winner Monty's Mission ran well at Tramore on Thursday but has yet to win in 11 racecourse outings. Debut point-to-point winner Laughing Trix, a hurdle winner in October, should go well from her mark, while Golden Symphony hasn't run in 143 days but has place claims. The Dreams Alive is still a maiden but has been running well and can get involved for the placings, but long-absent Redwood Boy is best watched on reappearance.

ATR VERDICT: LORD ROYAL looked set to collect on his chasing debut at Thurles last month until crashing out at the second-last. He had jumped well until getting it all wrong at the penultimate fence and paying the price. The French import had looked an exciting prospect when winning by a wide margin over hurdles at Clonmel back in January and although turned over next time, it was still a promising effort. He could make into a smart novice chaser. Sempo is an interesting rival making his first outing over the larger obstacles. He has shown a high level of ability both in bumpers and over hurdles and makes his first appearance since finishing sixth in the Albert Bartlett at Cheltenham in March. Longhouse Poet already has a couple of outings over fences and it was a solid effort to chase home Janidil at Naas last time. He may need further than this to be seen at his best.

ATR VERDICT: A very tricky looking contest and THISONESFOROLLIE may be able to land a race of this standard. She just ran a touch keen at Gowran last time when fourth off the same mark. She was dropping back down to this trip then and appears to have the gears for it. The Scorpion mare won twice over hurdles and there looks a race in her over fences off her current rating. There were great scenes when American Image won under Aileen O'Sullivan down in Clonmel in late October. He has 8lb more to deal with now but could make another bold bid. Mark Walsh partners Weihnachts from the three JP McManus horses. He disappointed in Clonmel last time but market moves would be interesting.

ATR VERDICT: NELLS SON hasn't been seen since February, but he created a very favourable impression when going down fighting at Doncaster on debut and has been gelded since. Nicky Richards' charge may be given most to think about by Fabuleux Du Clos, who wasn't beaten far at huge odds at Sedgefield last month, while Geonice ran a decent enough race on debut at Catterick to be considered here. Barbsboy is out of a bumper winner and a half-brother to a winning hurdler, so could prove the pick of the newcomers.

ATR VERDICT: SOCIALLY DISTANT bumped into a smart mare in Royal Kahala on her debut at Fairyhouse last month. Although no match for the winner then, it was still a promising effort and with that run under her belt, she may be able to step forward now and open her account. Obviously the Willie Mullins-trained newcomer Take Tea commands maximum respect. The daughter of Flemensfirth was bred by Jackie Mullins and is out of a half-sister to the yard's Hennessy Gold Cup winner Quel Esprit. Noel Meade runs point-to-point winner Fantasia Roque and she is another that warrants close inspection.
