The roads in the park can be quite narrow and steep, but you can reach the village from Rosedale Abbey or Farndale. In both cases follow the road towards Lastingham, then head south towards Appleton le Moors. Drive down the village, past the pub on the right (Moors Inn). Follow the road round the tight right handed corner and turn in right over the cattle grid. The same instructions apply as from the south… park up and relax.roam around and have little road sense, especially in the spring time when the lambs are born. After a couple of miles you come in to the village turn left over the cattle grid just before the left hand bend, park up and relax.
