WHO WE ARE Labor Forum is made up of a large and growing number of committed and passionate Labor Party activists right across . For decades Labor Forum has been the driving force behind successful Labor Governments who have a strong commitment to social justice and improving wages and conditions in the workplace. Whether it’s Wayne Goss ending 32 years of corrupt National Party rule or helping bring down , Labor Forum activists are part of a rich history. Today as our economy and society evolves at a rapid pace, Labor Forum is at the forefront of generating ideas and policies to take our Labor movement confidently into the future. Labor Forum includes Workers Union, the SDA (the two largest unions in Queensland), the Transport Workers Union and the Plumbers Union. OUR PURPOSE At the heart of our cause is the belief in the power of grassroots activism to shape the Labor Party and, most importantly, our society. We believe in fairness and a fair go for working people. We believe the role of government is to create prosperity to spread opportunity. We are bold, but not radical, recognising the need to bring the community with us on policy reform. A distinguishing feature of Labor Forum is the fact that we don’t just hope for fairness, we don’t just aspire for greater economic and social equality – we engineer it. WHY WE NEED YOU Labor Forum has an ambitious agenda and we’d like you to be a part of it. Our regular state-wide meetings, Labor Forum Councils, provide an opportunity for all members to have their voice heard and their ideas debated. The sad reality is that without people like you on board, elements of our party will continue to advance their fringe issues at the expense of the bread and butter priorities Queenslanders rely on Labor Governments for.
