Pi Kappa Phi was founded at the College of ChaTleston on Decem- ber 10, 1904, and established on the Tech campus in October, 1913. The monotony of the summer semester was broken somewhat by a series of hayrides, swimming parties, and steak fries. The annual Founder's Day Ball is given in DecembeT. In intramural athletics the Pi Kappa Phi's took the championship cup in softball with a record of twenty-one straight victories. The success of this year's team was largely due to the leadership of Robert Muir and the fine pitching of Harold Fleming. Founded at the University of March 9, 18 5 6, Sigma now has expanded to one hundred and thiTteen chapters with a membership of fifty-five thousand. Georgia Phi was the second national fraternity installed at Tech, being given its chapter on March 8, 1890. This year's main contribution of the S. A. E.'s to their alumni are J. T. Brumby, chapter president, and J. M. Walker, president Eta Kappa Nu. Other seniors who have done much at the S. A. E. mansion are K. K. Smith, G. R. Irwin, E. H. DemeTe, Locke Atwell, A. R. Since its founding it has expanded to 101 active chapters in the United States and Canada. The Beta Psi chapter was installed at Tech in 1922 by the absorption of Pi Alpha Sigma, a local fraternity. This past year Sigma Chi placed first in the Homecoming Deco- rations Contest for the second consecutive year and still Temains the undefeated basketball champion. The chapter placed third in both the Rambling Wreck Contest and the swimming meet. This past summer the fraternity had a very enjoyable house party at Camp Sky Lake, in the North Georgia mountains, and, with Phi Delta Theta and Beta Theta Pi, sponsored the Miami Triad dance. The chapter will indeed miss the departing seniors, as well as the other brothers who have joined the armed forces. Notable among the honors held by the departing senioTs are presidency of the Student Council and Tau Beta Pi, as well as membership and officership in nearly every literary, social, and scholastic organiza- tion on the campus. ROGERS Founded at Virginia Military Institute in 1869, Sigma Nu was installed at Tech in 1896, the fouTth national social fraternity to reach the campus. In D. E. Killam, president of the chapter, the Gamma Alpha chapter of Sigma Nu boasts a very outstanding and representative senior. His most important achievement was being editor of the TECHNIQUE. Other prominent seniors include E. P. Owen, man- aging editor of the TECHNIQUE and of the ENGINEER; J. R. Allen, Tau Beta Pi and Gold T; R. D. McGaughey, R. V. MacGregor, and 0. K. Lewis, all of whom are active in campus oTganizations. Repeating a success of the past few years, Sigma No this year entertained at a Lil Abner costume dance. There twelve friends who joined together for the sole purpose of friendship, and with their far- sightedness founded a fraternity that has now taken its place among the gTeat organizations of the fraternity woTld. Since 1901 the fraternity has grown until at present theTe are 77 chapters spread throughout 38 states with a total membership of over 23,000. Georgia Alpha Chapter was founded at Tech in 1907, being the seventh frateTnity to be established here. The social calendar this year consisted of a local founders' day ball in November, a national founders' day ball in April, and a number of house dances. These events were supplemented by an active part in all interfraternity activities and school sports. Having been led by a fine group of officers—Charlie McLeod, Ralph Malone, Norman Runyon, and hilly Counts—the "Sig Eps" have enjoyed another great year together. C. A. McLEoD . . . . . . . . SIENNICK , the outgrowth of a professional fraternity, was organized as a national collegiate frateTnity in 1910. Phi chapter was installed on the Tech campus in 1922. As the school year comes to a close, Phi men bemoan the loss of four valuable men. Gone will be the torrid commands of Chancellor Leon Bawer; the continued ramblings of Vice-Chancellor Marvin Arkin; the key rattling of Ray Sadow—Tau Beta Pi, 0. D. K., Phi Kappa Phi, and the social advice from Cassanova, Bob Reisman. That these men have done much for the Tau Ep's is without question. It is with deep regret that Tau Epsilon Phi bids these men farewell. This year, as in the past, the annual Southern Conclave high- lighted the year's social activities. The social year was rounded out with a series of dances, buffet suppers, and house parties. The intramuTal softball team added a new cup to the trophy shelf by winning the interfraternity softball championship. L. I. BAWER President H. L. COHEN Secretary M. W. ARKIN . . ..... H. A. VRONO Theta Chi, founded at Norwich University in 1856, is now enter- ing its 97th year of continuous existence as a social fraternity. Founded on the Tech campus in 1923, the local chapter, Alpha Nu, has been very well represented by its members in all campus organizations and activities. Outstanding among this year's senioTs is Sam McLendon, chapter president, editor of the BLUE PRINT, and member of Anak and . Other seniors whose loss will be keenly felt by the fraternity are John Carver Hunt, 1). M. Lewis, Nick Passarello, and Tommy Burton. The Theta Chis climaxed a successful social season with their annual Rebel Reunion in which they were hosts to Theta Chi members and delegates of seven prominent Southern colleges. S. C.
