University students now have to travel to the hospital to get a rape kit exam. For more than 20 years, students were able to walk over to the previous University health center on Ridge Street, report a sexual assault and be seen by a nurse who does a rape kit examination, called a Sexual Assault Nurse Examiner. Now, if students go to the Falcon Health Center on Wooster Street, they will be seen by a nurse, who will take information about the assault, and be referred to RUBEN KAPPLER | THE BG NEWS the Wood County Hospital to see a SANE, said Deb DURING ITS Man Crush Monday segment, Elem3nt changed costumes during a guest performance and returned to dance to Alicia Keys’ “Fire We Make” on Saturday night. Falcons sweep Zips in battle of father, son By Corey Krupa Reporter

BG head coach Danny Schmitz’s team swept the who are coached by his son, Spencer Schmitz. “I’ve never officially coached against him before. He’s played for me and coached for me before. It was a little strange, but it was a good experience,” Schmitz said. On Friday, the Falcons defeated the University of Akron 9-7. Falcon starting pitcher Mike Frank pitched six innings and struck out five batters Friday afternoon. Frank now has 201 career strikeouts, which is the third-most in school history. “He went out and pitched very well, I thought that was huge. He came through with a big start for us,” Schmitz said. Falcon catcher T.J. Losby had three hits and three RBIs in the series opener. On Saturday, the Falcon offense scored 11 runs in an 11-5 victory over the Zips.
