On the day of Interview candidates will be required to:

 Lead a 40 minute lesson;  Interview with the Headmaster and Head of Years 1 and 2;  Tour of the school; and  Meet other members of staff.

The school is set in 50 acres of wonderful, rolling Surrey countryside in Frensham near Farnham. Pupils are very well behaved, courteous and supportive of the school’s Christian ethos. Any new member of staff will be joining an exceptionally strong and well organised team of teaching and non- teaching staff.

Years 1 and 2 at Edgeborough

There are currently two parallel classes in Years 1 and 2 which are located in our purpose built Pre-Prep department which benefits from extensive playgrounds and stunning outdoor space.

The Role

This is a full time, permanent position. The candidate will be working either in Year 1 or Year 2 area of the Pre-Prep.

All staff attend INSET Training days and a small number of special school events e.g. parents evenings/Open Days etc.

Remuneration On the Edgeborough Salary Scale (See above). The appointee will be placed on the scale according to experience and qualifications.

Edgeborough currently takes full part in the Teachers’ Pension Scheme.

Main Responsibilities

The teacher shall carry out the professional duties of a school teacher under the direction of the Headmaster, and these shall include.

1. Planning and preparing lessons in accordance with the aims and objectives of the school and the programme of study, as determined by the subject co-ordinator – or Head of Pre Prep.

2. Teaching the pupils assigned to each class and being responsible for the welfare of the children for the time of the lesson.

3. Maintaining good order and discipline amongst the pupils and safeguarding their health and safety whilst they are under your supervision.

4. Assessing, recording and reporting on the development progress and attainment of pupils in accordance with procedures laid down.

5. Communicating with parents of pupils.

6. Liaising with colleagues to ensure continuity and high standards of teaching and learning in each class.

7. Supervising and, as far as is practicable, teaching any pupils whose teacher is not available to teach them.

8. Assisting in the supervision of pupils before during and after school - as directed by the Head of Years 1 & 2.

9. To be responsible during a fire alarm for the supervision of the pupils of any class they are teaching out of the buildings and their subsequent registration.

10. To be responsible for the organisation and supervision of pupils during relevant school trips in the manner laid out in the staff handbook.

11. Participating in, as appropriate, any meetings affecting the school, pupils and parents.

12. Maintaining resources and displays in an ordered way and to a high standard.

13. Participating in arrangements for training, professional development as a teacher and appraisal.

Salary & Pension  Your starting salary will be according to your Letter of Appointment. This takes into account your current qualifications and experience.  Edgeborough has its own salary scale which is reviewed annually and published in September.  Edgeborough currently takes full part in the Teachers’ Pension Scheme

Induction, Appraisal and Professional Development All staff follow a course of induction in their first year which forms the initial stage of the Appraisal Programme. As part of the Professional Development Programme, INSET Training is provided for 2-3 days before the start of each term.
