Hi folks, Where is God when life is really tough? I’ve been reflec>ng on this over the last couple of weeks, as two category 5 hurricanes wreaked destruc>on in the Caribbean. I have a par>cular interest in Barbuda, one of the islands most badly hit (whose residents have since been evacuated to An>gua), because my mother wrote a history of the island, from 1738 up to the emancipa>on of the slaves in 1833. The aerial photo below, from when we visited in 1986, shows just how flat the island is, with the 30m high ‘highlands’ in the background. There will be many in the Caribbean who will be asking themselves now, “where is God in all this?” Whole books are wriTen to address this topic!
