SILENT AUCTION – BID FOR FINE WINES! – VOLVO CHINA OPEN INTERNATIONAL QUALIFIER BLOOD, SWEAT and even TEARS! Fine Wine Silent Auction Discovery Bay Golf Club will host a fine wine auction by silent bidding in May. Members interested in bidding are required to complete the bid authorisation form and submit their bid by placing it in the dedicated drop box located at DBGC reception. Once the bid is submitted it cannot be withdrawn. Opening bid requirement: DBGC has set a reserve price for each item, and if the reserve price is not reached the wine in question will not be auctioned. Bid submission: Place the signed bid authorisation in a sealed envelope into the drop box at DBGC reception by May 21st 2011. The envelope must clearly identify the bid is for a specific Lot number. Please refer to the auction list on the opposite page for complete details of all Lot numbers. Winning bid: Once all envelopes have been opened the highest bid for each Lot will win. If the highest bid is a duplicated dollar value by two different bidders the first opened bid will win. Auction date: The drawing of the silent bids will be made on May 28th 2011, commencing at 6pm in the lounge at DBGC. Wine display: The wines will be on display in the foyer at DBGC from April 1 to May 15th 2011 for inspection. Wine guarantee: The wine display is for confirmation that you have inspected the bottle/s of wine and is your confirmation that the wine is accepted in good condition at the time of your inspection. Once the bid is placed, and if the bid is successful, the wine is then your property. Auction attendance: You are not required to be in attendance at the actual auction. Once your bid is placed, if you are the highest bidder you will be notified. Privacy: During the auction only the actual dollar value of the bid will be called out, the name of the bidder will not be announced. If the bidder attends the auction the bidder him/herself make may him/herself known. Collection: The wine is required to be collected by the winning bidder within one month of the auction date.
