Forming 125 for UMS-Wright’s birthday celebration, grades 1-6 posed in their decades attire on the football field in Cooper Stadium. Students enjoyed the day out of uniform and the assembly led by President Dr. Tony Havard in which he started with the founding of the school in 1893 and continued with other events throughout UMS-Wright history.

One of UMS-Wright’s goals for students is Reporters to have honor. Essentially, it is an all encompassing concept that gives Wes cooper meaning to life that stretches beyond ourselves. Philotimo is the idea of Thomas crane being honorable because it is the right thing to do. It encapsulates all the Grace elliott nuances of the school’s mission as staff strives to enable students to reach Caroline Flowers their highest potential. According to the Greek secret of Philotimo, some Colton fowler people think Philotimo is a complex constellation of values that is difficult to define: a way of life, positive values, and a uniquely Greek word. Jeff holston Philotimo sums up the meaning of selflessness, humbleness, and integrity. Ansleigh Ishee Filo means friends and timo means honor. When we went to press, Stuart Gibbs was scheduled to visit January 16 and 17; however, he is now unable to make the trip, but he has written quite a few books which are popular among students. Although born in Philadelphia, PA. Gibbs moved to Washington, DC when he was seven years old. Now he lives in Los Angeles, CA. He has wanted to be an author ever since kindergarten. He has authored the Spy School Series, Fun Jungle Series, and Space Case series to name just a few. Spy School Goes South was published October 2. The Spy School series and the Moon Base Alpha series are both New York Times best sellers. Also, Mr. Gibbs will be coming out with a new Fun Jungle series book Lion Down in February 2019. Will Stuart Gibbs turn his books to movies? He would love to, but none are currently Junior Optimist Club members participated in the sixth annual Trick or Trot, which had a goal of raising $40,000 this year to represent the 40,000 pediatric patients who have been treated in the Pediatric Emergency Department at USA Children’s and in progress. Why do stars twinkle?

Fifth grade reading teacher Mrs. Ginny Jaye assists Lillian Hooks in answering a question about the scavenger hunt. Every year at the opening of school fifth graders use the scavenger hunt to learn the lay of the land. Students use the clues in the hunt to locate books and other items in the stacks.
