Connie’s Poem

C O R N E R

Another poem from the talented Connie!

It was our Tuesday club outing to

For all club members and me,

Everyone was quite excited

It had been months since we went on a spree.

Mrs McGregor turned poorly It was only the sway of the bus, Everyone started singing You’ll be ok if you stay here with us. The bus broke down on a side road As the driver was taking a short cut, Luckily, no one was injured

But Mrs McGregor grazed her foot.

We all had to wait by the roadside

While the driver phoned for relief,

Everyone turned very thirsty

So I passed round a packet of sweets.

At last the relief bus came to the rescue

And everyone sat on fresh seats.

We had spent a few hours by the roadside And eaten our stale picnic rolls Mrs McGregor hobbled towards me And said “next year shall we play bowls?”
