Another large entry of 1220 Mule wethers which included the annual show judged by Mr Malcolm Skidmore of Billingham. Receiving the first prize ticket was JM Beresford, High Gale with a pen of 45kg realising £57.50 bought by A Slack of Appleby. 2nd prize was awarded to I & P Brown of Ravenstonedale which went on to make £56. The day’s judge CHAMPION M & R Smith £2000 Simon Case, Ulverston picked Mark Smith of CLASS 1 – BEST NEWLY CALVED COW Winterburn’s best heifer as his first place heifer and champion, which he later secured at £2000. 1st GW Whitwell Ltd £1950 Other prices to note include, Jeff Burrows at £2020 nd 2 GW Whitwell Ltd £1750 and John Dawson, Bleak Bank with a lovely heifer 3rd S Kellet & Sons £1150 at £2000.
