AND ROMAN SCENARIO

For the past month we have studied Ancient Greece and we are now studying Ancient Rome. We have learned how Greek culture spread with Alexander the Great and now we have been learning how Rome adopted many aspects of Greek Culture. We learned about architecture, government, mathematics, science, mythology and language while studying both civilizations. It was Alexander the Great’s hope that the regions he conquered would mix the Greek Culture in with their own. This did not always happen. You job is to see if there is any evidence of Greek or Roman Culture in our own country. If Alexander the Great were alive today, would he see evidence of his highly regarded Greek influences? Today, Greece is in turmoil and facing economic and political collapse. Try to convince the Greek people to save their country and its culture by reminding them of their great accomplishments and contributions to the world.

Using the Creativity Fluency, your job is to identify as a group evidence of Greek or Roman Culture within the following categories:

Architecture

Government

Mathematics

Science

Mythology

Language

At least one of example of each must be found. You can use the Internet or books to find examples. You are to have a visual of your examples on either a poster or a slideshow. A brief description must be included for every example. After that, you are to use these examples to inspire your group to interpolate the elements that you would like to use to encourage the people of Greece to preserve their heritage. For example, you may use the images you have found to imagine and create a song, story, and video, any type of artwork, commercial, poetry, presentation or letter for the people of Greece.

At the end of the project, we will inspect everyone’s creations and compare and contrast the evidence of Greek and Roman Culture. Will Alexander the Great be pleased? Each group will present their ideas to the class. Everyone must be involved as everyone will be given a grade on their individual effort. However, a chain is only as strong as its . You will do better if every person works to the best of their abilities!! Each member of the group is expected to speak to the class in a clear and concise manner while maintaining eye contact. All presentations will be given on March 29-30th
