An adult who is exempt from fasting should recite Havdalah on Saturday night before eating.

Summer Class Schedule Aharon Cherniak is currently studying for his semikha at the Gruss Institute of University in Jerusalem. He holds an Hons. BA in psychology from YU, which included time at Hebrew University. Aharon is a published author in both Jewish studies and psychology. Originally from Toronto, Aharon learned for two years at Yeshivat Lev HaTorah. Aharon is the lucky husband of Sali (née Blum) and the proud father of Ronen Simcha Yisrael (1).

This shabbat will feature three talk by PTSD expert, Dr. David Pelcovitz and spiritually uplifting services led by Chazzan Shimon Craimer. We will come together as a community to continue to heal and prepare for the Yamim Noraim.

Dr. Pelcovitz holds the Gwendolyn and Joseph Straus Chair in Psychology and Jewish Education at Yeshi- va University’s Azrieli Graduate School of Jewish Education and Administration, where he is also the Spe- cial Assistant to the President. Serving for over two decades as Director of Psychology at North Shore University Hospital-NYU School of Medicine, and as Clinical Professor of Psychology in Psychiatry at NYU School of Medicine, he has consulted extensively with the Jewish community in the United States, Europe and Israel on a wide range of issues facing children and adolescents. Areas of research and clinical spe- cialty include family violence, the impact of domestic violence, stress management, transmitting values to children and adolescents and coping with trauma and loss. His most recent publication was “Balanced Parenting," a book he wrote in collaboration with his father on parenting from a Jewish perspective.
