Ground Rules

1. All judges’ decisions will be final. Discussion will not be entertained.

2. All decisions will be made at the discretion of the judge.

3. Absolutely no abuse, mishandling, or choking of livestock will be tolerated.

4. A contestant may only be substituted in the event due to personnel injury.

5. Western attire will be required to compete. ****Hat, boots, long sleeve shirt, and jeans****

6. All entries must be post-marked 10 days prior to the rodeo date.

Page 2. Ranch Bronc Riding Rules 1. Stock . NO PRCA RIGGING

2. Ride’em any way you can ride’em for 8 seconds, but maintain control of horse.

3. The horses will be flanked.

4. You don't have to mark the horse out. (Points added for mark out.)

5. No quirts used above the front shoulder.

6. No bronc saddle stirrup bindings will be allowed.

7. Only one bronc rider per team.

8. Can hang onto saddle horn or can use rope night latch.

9. No hobbling of one or both stirrups

Page 3. Ranch Roping 1. Three (3) minute time limit.

2. Four man team.

3. Arena will be divided into thirds. A herd of numbered will be held at far end of arena. Time starts when first rider crosses the start line. Announcer will call out the team’s drawn steer number.

4. Team must out, drawn numbered steer from herd and move it across the roping line. If more than two steers cross the line it will result in a 30 second penalty.

5. Time stops when steer has been headed and heeled.

6. 5 second penalty for single leg catch.

7. Legal head catches are; around the horns, around the neck, half head, around the neck and one front leg.

8. Illegal head catches will result in 30 second penalty.

Calf Branding 1. A four (4) man team, including two ropers & two ground crew members. Ropers must switch end after the first calf is branded. On second round ropers will be ground crew and ground crew will be ropers.

2. Two (2) calves are released into branding pen. Time begins when you enter the branding pen.

3. Each team will have a three (3) minute time limit to rope both calves, allowing all the loops they need. The calves must be headed and healed.

4. Muggers must stay in designated area until calf is headed and heeled.

5. The flankers must remove the head rope and place it around both front feet and both heels must be in loop. Failure to do so will result in 30 second penalty. After the calf is flat on its side and the rope is around all four feet, the branding iron is removed from the bucket, the calf branded on its hip on the left side, and the iron returned to the bucket after branding each calf.

6. Time stops when branding iron is in the bucket after the second calf.

7. The winner is the fastest time on two calves

Page 5. Wild Cow Milking 1. A four man team including a Roper, milker and 2 muggers. Roper will be horseback.

2. Team/teams will be behind start/finish line. When flag drops team/teams will cross start line and time will start.

3. Three minute time limit. No loop limit.

4. Catch as catch can but cow’s head must pass through loop.

5. The rope must be undallied before milking commences.

6. The rope must be off the cow before milk is dumped before the judge. Failure to undally before pouring milk (before rope is removed from cow) or being unable to pour milk will result in disqualification.

7. NO SPITTING IN MILK CONTAINER. SPITTING WILL BE GROUNDS FOR DISQUALIFICATION.

Trailer Loading 1. 3 minute time limit. Arena will be divided into thirds. Truck and trailer will be located in the arena.

2. Numbered cattle will be located at the far end of the arena.

3. Time will start when the first team member crosses the start line and announcer gives the team their designated steer.

4. All members can cross the line.

5. Anyone can sort.

6. It is the teams’ decision who will sort and who will turn back.

7. Team will sort and rope designated steer.

8. Team may have two wrong numbered steers across line. 5 second penalty for each additional wrong numbered steer across line. Wrong numbered steers must be behind far line before designated steer is loaded.

9. Loading wrong numbered steer results in a no time.

10. Load steer in front of trailer.

11. Shut and latch divider gate.

12. Load two horses in rear of trailer NO RIDING HORSES INTO TRAILER.

13. Shut rear gate and latch it. Trailer must be “Road Ready”.

14. Time stops when all members are in the truck and the “driver” honks the horn.
