iWeb: There’s a Whole World to Explore

If you want a webpage that is easy to make and suits your personality, youʼve come to the right place. Whether you intend to make a , or create a place to post pictures and videos from your familyʼs latest vacation, iWeb can help you out in any capacity. So find the nearest Mac and take a seat, because iWeb will take you on a journey you are sure not to forget.

1. Look at your dock and find the iWeb logo. It looks like a bulletin board with two images posted on it.

2. Select the icon and open up the application.

3. A template chooser will appear on your screen. Here you can choose what theme you want to use for your webpage along with what type of page you want (, photo album, welcome page, etc.)

4. To name your page, double click the link under the heading “Site” on the far left side of the page.

Remember that anything that is previously on the template can be deleted, edited, or moved to suit your needs. Tools of the Trade:

Inspector can be found when you click on the blue icon with a lowercase “i” inside. It is a small window that allows you to edit or modify almost everything in your site. Some of the jobs it can perform are seen below.

The Extra Mile:

By now, you should have the knowledge that is required to make a good iWeb page. You can add text, adjust images, and move everything around just the way you want it. However, if you want to turn your ordinary site into an extraordinary site, you need to go the extra mile. Thatʼs where media comes in. The bar at the right side of the page will assist you in adding video, widgets, , and photos to your iWeb page in seconds. If you do not see the media bar, select “Show Media” at the bottom of your toolbar. All you have to do is select which type of media you would like, choose the piece from your computer, and drag it into your page. The Finish Line:

Once you have completed your entire website, itʼs time to publish it! Double click the title of your website, and a screen will appear with download info. You have the choice to publish to a Mobile Me account, which you must already have a subscription for, an FTP server, which is a web hosting service, or a local folder. You will insert the information asked for, before selecting the “Publish Site” icon at the bottom of the page. (seen to the right)
