Information about the Breivik appeal case The appeal case concerning the prison conditions of Anders Behring Breivik starts in Court of Appeal Tuesday January 10th and will last until Wednesday January 18th, with a break in proceedings on Monday January 16th. The proceedings begin at 12:45 on Tuesday January 10th, and at 09:00 the other days. The proceedings will be held in Telemark prison, section , in the city of Skien.

NRK, the Norwegian Broadcasting Corporation, is in charge of broadcasting the proceedings. The media and public will be able to follow the proceedings from Borgarting Court of Appeal in , in courtroom K-21. There will be reserved seating for the media and seats available to the public. As there is only a limited amount of seats available to the general public, those who are interested in following the proceedings will need to reserve a seat a day in advance. Tickets will be available each day in the reception at Borgarting Court of Appeal, Keysers gate 13, Oslo between 8:00 and 15:00.

The appeal case will be led by three Appellate Court Judges: Øystein Hermansen, Jørgen F. Brunsvig and Kjersti Buun Nygaard.

The State and Norwegian Ministry of Justice will be represented by Attorney General Fredrik Sejersted, and lawyers Marius Emberland and Hilde Ruus.

Anders Breivik is represented by lawyers Øystein Storrvik and Mona Danielsen.

Anders Breivik and the Ministry of Justice have appealed Oslo 's judgment of April the 20th 2016. The case concerns whether Anders Breivik's prison conditions are in violation of the European Convention on Human rights during preventive custody and during his sentence at Ila prison and Telemark prison, section Skien.

Closed doors The court has decided that parts of the proceedings will be held behind closed doors. This includes the hearing of evidence at Ila Prison and the inspection at Telemark Prison, section Skien.

The testimonies from the witnesses Bjarkeid, Stenshaugen and Eide will also be held partly behind closed doors, and the confidential parts of their testimonies will be held during the inspection at Ila prison and Telemark Prison, section Skien.
