ASAQS CONGRESS 2009 E-mail:

Members are advised that the ASAQS Congress 2009 that was earlier announced to be scheduled for Your profession Port Elizabeth on 21 and 22 May 2009, has been postponed to a date later in the year. Details as to the Other date and venue will be made available as soon as arrangements have reached a sufficient level of finalisation. We apologise for any inconvenience. Subscribe:

Un-subscribe: BE CAREFUL

Please make sure that you are I received an unsolicited e-mail from the" World Business Guide" this week reading: connected to the Internet before you press the GO! button. We value your subscription. "In order to have your company inserted into the registry of World Businesses for 2009/2010, please print, complete and return the enclosed form (PDF file) to the following address:... Updating is free of charge "

Luckily I read the fine print on the form and on their website and found that updating may be free but listing is charged at 995 Euro per annum and if you sign and return the enclosed form you are signing a three year contract! If I had sent in the form I would have incurred a debt of 2,985 Euro or almost R40,000 just to have my company listed on a website and CD-rom!

Please be careful when dealing with unsolicited e-mails and warn your secretaries and associates - something sounding to good to be true usually is!

I found that a couple of consultants in the South African built-environment are already listed and wonder whether they read the small print - or did a well-meaning secretary reply to this e-mail? file:///C|/Users/Bert%20vd%20Heever/Documents/My%20Websites/ASAQS/News/Issues/210209.htm[2012/10/16 20:10:47] Weekend Property & Construction News

MEMBERSHIP FEES 2009/2010

Practices:

Members are advised that the Membership Fees for the Practices for the financial year 2009/2010 (for the period 1 March 2009 to 28 February 2010) have already been invoiced and dispatched to the practices, for payment on presentation. To those practices that have already paid – thank you very much.

Individual Members:

Similarly the members are advised that the Membership Fees for the Individual Members for the financial year 2009/2010 (for the period 1 March 2009 to 28 February 2010) are currently being processed and will be dispatched to the members during the first week in March 2009, for payment on presentation. We look forward to your early settlement of these invoices.

To view a schedule of the Membership Fees (for Practices and Individual Members), please click here.

INTRODUCTION OF REGISTRATION FEES FOR PRACTICES

Members are advised that as from 01 March 2009, all new applications for the registration of Practices will now be subject to an initial non-refundable Registration Fee of R1 140,00 (inclusive of VAT). This is a procedure that has always been in place for the membership applications for Individual Members and the introduction of this registration fee merely achieves to line up the two respective processes for the Practices and Individual Members respectively. Incidentally, it is also a requirement of the ASAQS Constitution, which is now being implemented to be compliant with that requirement.

It should be noted that when the initial application is submitted to the ASAQS offices (together with the proof of payment of the Registration Fee), only then will the application for registration of the Practice be processed. You will be sent a subsequet invoice for the annual membership fee and on payment of that, the application process will be completed and confirmed with the issue of a beautiful registration certificate.

We are very happy to receive electronic (eft) payments, or even credit card payments. Should you elect to pay by credit card, then we clearly need your credit card details to process the transaction on our side. Should you need further clarity, please contact the ASAQS office for further assistance.

For a copy of the Registration Form for Practices, please click here. file:///C|/Users/Bert%20vd%20Heever/Documents/My%20Websites/ASAQS/News/Issues/210209.htm[2012/10/16 20:10:47] Weekend Property & Construction News
