Notice of continued intention of delivery – Swim Festival of Swimming, Swansea and

Following the announcement from the First Minister on the 14th July relating to the delivery of indoor events, are pleased to confirm the continued intention of delivery of the upcoming Festival of Swimming Competitions:

 Cardiff International Pool, August 7-8th  Wales National Pool, Swansea, August 7-9th

We continue to await full details of delivery requirements, including updated legislation from . In the meantime we have been working with the Welsh Sports Association (WSA) to understand how the new regulations relate to swimming competitions and currently we understand that:

 Indoor events where standing and seating are present must adhere to the lower limit of 200 people (including athletes, coaches and officials but not core facility/event staff)

Clearly these limitations on numbers present delivery challenges, however Swim Wales remains fully committed to working with our key partners to try to ensure the best possible, and safest, delivery of these events. *Please note however, that the delivery of these events remains intended and not confirmed, we therefore continue to advise any travel and/or overnight expenditure are refundable and/or flexible.

Following the publication of event delivery requirements and supporting legislation from Welsh Government (due in the coming days), Swim Wales will confirm delivery status of these events and publish further information including event schedules, timelines and protocols by Friday 23rd July.

An intended list of entries for each event will be made available online shortly, on the corresponding event page (see below), however these entries are based on our current understanding of regulations and therefore may be subject to change following the publication of official legislation from Welsh Government. https://www.swimwales.org/events/wnps-festival-of-swimming https://www.swimwales.org/events/cip-festival-of-swimming
