16 5 News from St Bartholomew’s

May I begin with a belated Happy New Year to, and from, everyone at St Bartholomew’s Church. All of the Christmas Services were a real celebration of the birth of Jesus and, it was so good to see so many people at the Crib Service on Christmas Eve. The displays illustrating the Christmas Carols were marvellous, and the lunch went really well. Now we have to think of something to do for next year! (I vote for the Christmas trees again, Ed)

The PCC met in January to reflect on the Christmas events and to look forward to the year ahead. The committee was particularly pleased to note the financial situation, expertly managed by Keith, and is most grateful to the History Group for its very kind donation. Sadly the History Group disbanded towards the end of last year, but they kindly donated their remaining funds to the Church to use towards maintenance of the Church room, where they had met for many many years. Many thanks to all concerned. Gifts The PCC hope that the repair and redecoration of the Chancel area of the church will be done in the next month and we areRaffle grateful to Colin A series of 5 fun, interactive evenings for arranging for the work to be carried out.
