The Greater Vallejo Recreation District (GVRD) will host its 16th Annual Vallejo Sports Hall of Fame Ceremony on March 9, beginning at 3:30 p.m. at the Dan Foley Cultural Center. This event celebrates the achievements of past and present Vallejo sport athletes from local Vallejo public schools and colleges. The event will begin with a cocktail and social hour beginning at 3:30 p.m., and will include a catered dinner. Attendees can also participate in a silent auction, and explore the Sports Exhibit Hall throughout the evening. All proceeds from the event will be donated to Vallejo Youth Sports in Vallejo. 17th Annual Youth AG Day - March 19

Third grade classes in Solano County are invited to participate in the 16th Annual Youth AG Day at the Solano County Fairgrounds on March 19. This event is an opportunity for students to learn about food and fiber production, and hear from farmers, ranchers, and other agricultural businesses in Solano County. Youth AG Day will feature educational presentations, hands-on activities, and other displays such as cattle roping and sheep herding. An optional pre- event classroom project is available to classes to help prepare students for the learning experience. The event will take place on March 19, from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. and is free to all participating third grade classes. Inflatable 5K Fun Run - March 30 The Inflatable Run & Festival is in town this month! On March 30, 2019, the Inflatable Run & Festival will be making an appearance in the Solano County fairgrounds. The run is a 5k that is ran all through inflatable obstacle courses and is a sure fire way to spend a fun memorable day with the family. There are many attractions for people of all ages and include all sorts of different attractions besides the obstacle courses to run. Verismo Opera Presents Aida - through March 31

Beginning on February 24 through March 31, Verismo Opera will be presenting the opera, Aida, which was first produced by Guiseppe Verdi, in Cairo, in 1871. Aida is one of the most popular of Verdi's operas and one of the most loved of all Italian lyric dramas. Set in Ancient Egypt, against the backdrop of war, Aida is a story of love and betrayal full of emotional and powerful music.
