Tree Plantation

Tree plantation 1st july 2016:The students of NSS actively participatedin the tree plantation activity under the guidance of NSS program officer Mr. Sachin Kokane on 1st July. The students planted around 50 saplings of various species on , A 1 meter pit had been dug up for each sapling after planting, the students watered the plants. This was a good initiative taken by the NSS students for saving the environment from pollution

KARGIL DAY

Dated: On July 26, 2016 Kargil Day was celebrated in at AISSMS IOIT under National Service Scheme. The program was started by the principal of the college Dr. P.B. Mane by lightening of the lamp. In the program, students gave Kargil Victory Day speech.Students and NSS Program Officers as well as Teacher Volunteers were present.

Kraanti din 9th august 2016:

9th of August 2016observed asKranti Divas or Soldier Day in our country was celebrated by the students of NSS of AISSMS IOIT. The event was started by lighting lamps on the photos of soldiers who sacrificed life for the nation, later one of the NSS student Shivam gave a speech on soldier day and explained the life of a soldier in his speech. A short video about soldier day was shown to the students who were present for the activity. NSS program officer Mr. Sachin Kokane was also present for the event

Personality development (yin) 12th august 2016:

On 12th August the Sakal media had organized a speech for NSS students of AISSSMS IOIT on the topic “Development of the country with the help of youths”.

Mr. Ganesh discussed the important role that young generation played for the development of the country he also discussed about the problems in our country. A group discussion was held among the students in which students gave their various ideas for the development of the nation. Also he spoke about Young Inspiratory Network in which students from various college all around come together and share their experiences and work for the welfare and development of the nation. He also noted how YIN could make a change and be beneficial for the students to implement their ideas.

The Principal of AISSMS IOIT Dr. P.B. Mane also appreciated Mr. Ganesh‟s speech and supported the students for their active participation in the program. NSS program officer Mr Sachin Kokane was also present for the speech organized by NSS unit of AISSMS.

INDEPENDENCE DAY 2016 ( 15th AUG )

th 15 AUGUST 2016 :

On account of Independence Day, The AISSMS society organised an Independence Day program which observed the active participation of students as well as the NSS unit of all the colleges of AISSMS.

The events began with flag hoisting followed by a parade in which the students of AISSMS Day school performed later various other personalities gave their speech on the Independence Day, the Vice chancellor of Savitribai Phule University Dr. W. N Gade also gave a speech.

Military weapon visit 15th AUG 2016:

An exhibition called „Know your army‟ was organized by the Bombay Engineering Group(BEG), College of Military Engineering(CME), 330 Infantry brigade, CAFVD and Cantonment Board(KCB) on the occasion of Independence Day will allow the citizens of Pune and - to watch a display of military weapons and equipment. Such an event is being held in Khadki for the first time.

Tanks, infantry combat vehicles, bridging equipment, mine laying devices, mine clearing equipment, communication equipment, modern exchanges, rifles, light machine guns/ medium machine guns, rocket launchers, night vision devices, mortars, sniper rifles, air defense guns and air defense radars were displayed at the event.

The students of NSS of AISSMS IOIT visited the exhibition and learnt about the various types of weapons used by the Indian army. The event attracted many students and citizens across the city.

Personality development (iscon) 29th aug 2016:

A Personality Development lecture conducted by the ISKON group of Pune and organized by NSS for the students of AISSMS IOIT was conducted on 29th of August 2016.

Mr. Bhushan Prabu discussed how people spoil their life by consuming liquor, tobacco for the sake of happiness in life and how these things affect the human body. He also explained the importance of worshiping God to the students and how yoga could help us to fight stress. He had also organised a special program for the welfare of the students which included six chapters of personality development conducted by the group of ISKON Pune. NSS program officer Mr. Sachin Kokane was also present for the activity.

Organ donation rally 30th august 2016

The students of NSS participated in the Organ donation Rally event organized by Government of Maharashtra along with BJ Government medical college and Sassoon General Hospital to create an awareness for donating organs.

Through this Campaign, the government aims to maximize the number of voluntary registration for Cadaveric (Post Death) Organ Donation. Dr. Ajay Chandanwale, Dean BJGMC & SGH informed,” Vital Organs like heart, liver, kidneys, intestines, lungs, and pancreas can be donated only in case of „brain death‟. However other tissues like corneas, heart valves, skin, bones etc. can be donated only in case of natural death. Each year, thousands of people die while waiting for a transplant, no suitable donor can be found for them. The need for organ donors has never been greater.”

The students had a walk from AISSMS IOIT College to Sassoon Hospital ground giving announcements about donating organs guided by NSS program officer Mr. Sachin Kokane, to the on lookers. The event observed active participation of various special personalities, Social reformer Anna Hazare was also present for the event.

Visapur fort conservation 12th September 2016:

Fort Conservation Visapur On 12th September 2016, keeping in mind that “Gadkot is our Rajyalakshmi, Gadkot is our wealth”, volunteers of All India Shri Shivaji Memorial Society's Institute of Information Technology, Pune's National Service Scheme, Program Officer and Shri Shivdurg Gad Conservation With the help of Pratishthan, a fort conservation project was carried out at "Visapur Fort" in Lonavla.

Under this activity, 100 sacks of sand required for the construction of Sadar were transported from the base of the fort by human chain. The fort was cleaned during the program. Plastic waste, paper waste, glass bottles etc. were collected in bags and brought at the bottom of the fort and disposed of properly.

Prof. Sachin Kokane, Program Officer of National Service Scheme of the College, Prof. Chandrakant Bhange, Prof. Shivaji Gadadhe, Prof. Prashant Wakhare, Prof. Ganesh were present for this initiative. The principal of the college Dr. PB Mane provided guidance for the program.

Swatcha bharat abhiyaan 1st oct 2016:

On account of NSS week, the NSS students along with program officer Mr. Sachin Kokane organised various events under the scheme of Swacha bharat Abhiyan in the college. The events carried out by the NSS unit of AISSMS IOIT consisted campus cleaning, Swacha Bharat Abhiyan lecture to the students and teachers of the college which included a detailed lecture on how the garbage should be disposed accordingly and also the steps that every member should take for keeping the surroundings clean. The campus cleaning activity was carried out by the NSS students and the program officer.

Traffic safety 6th oct 2016:

The event was organizedby the RTO Pune on 6th October to inculcate basic traffic rules to the residents of Pune, as a part of the campaign the traffic police aimed to form a 100 km long human chain on the city roads as a symbolic gesture. The campaign was aimed at spreading awareness about road safety norms and basic rules like halting before the Zebra Crossing at traffic signals, following the traffic signals, avoiding unnecessary honking, use of helmets and seat belts and giving priority to ambulances on the streets. Deputy Commissioner of police (Traffic) Pravin Mundhe said, “With guidance from the commissioner of police and the joint commissioner of police, we have decided to organize an extensive traffic awareness drive across the city”. Along with a 100-kilometre-long human chain, 10 lakh stickers, 50,000 flags and 1,000 banners were put up in various parts of the city. The programme was commenced from 9 am in the morning and the citizens and students from various groups like NSS, RSS participated in the event.

The NSS students of AISSMS IOIT participated in the event and helped the traffic police officer to make the event successful. They explained traffic rules to the citizens and also created posters of road signs.

Savitribai Phule Jayanti

Savitribai Phule Jayanti was organized in our college on 03/01/2017. For this event, All volunteers and program officers were present. Darshana Gaikwad, Chaitrali Mhaske and other girls spoke for the event and gave important information about Savitribai.

Jijabai Jayanti and Swami Vivekananda Jayanti

Jijabai Jayanti was organized in our college on 12/01/2017. For this event, All volunteers and program officers were present. Darshana Gaikwad, Chaitrali Mhaske, Shraddha Bhagwat and other boys gave speeches and gave important information about Jijabai. Swami Vivekananda Jayanti was organized in our college on 12/01/2017. For this event, all volunteers and program officers were present. For this program, Bhushan Patil gave a beautiful speech on the topic of today's young generation and the changing times. Prof. Pokharkar also spoke. All the students also testified that Swami Vivekananda's thoughts were put into practice.

Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti

Subhash Chandra Bose Jayanti was organized in our college on 23/01/2017. For this event, all volunteers and program officers were present. Azhar Tamboli, Shrikant Deshmukh and other boys and girls spoke for the event. Chaitrali Mhaske recited a beautiful poem written on Netaji's life.

Republic Day

Republic Day was held at our college. For this event, all volunteers and program officers were present. The program began at 9:00 p.m. After the national anthem, speeches were made by the chief guests.

Voting Awareness Campaign

Voting awareness program was organized in our college on 15/02/2017. For this event, all volunteers and program officers were present. By going to the signal near the college, the children did their best to convey the message of voting rights to the common man. Volunteers used various posters and hoardings.

Disaster Management

Disaster Management program was organized in our college on 17/02/2017. For this event, all NSS volunteers and program officers were present. The event featured fire extinguishers. Fire officials gave information on how to rescue people from the fire and how to get them out of the fire. Shiva Jayanti

Shiva Jayanti was organized in our college on 19/02/2017. For this event, all NSS volunteers and program officers were present. Darshana Gaikwad, Krishna Patil, Shraddha Bhagwat and other boys and girls spoke for this program. Praveen Chittekar presented Povada on Shivaji Maharaj.

Free eye checkup

Free eye checkup workshop was organized in our college on 28/02/2017. For this event, all NSS volunteers and program officers were present. In this workshop, free eye check-ups of college principals and students were conducted.
