Junior Camogie Team On Sunday the 2nd of March, Ballina travelled to and took on Kilruane MacDonaghs in the first round of the Junior “B” Camogie League. This was Ballina’s first effort at adult level in quite a number of years & the girls put in a super effort to get the League campaign off to a great start. Ballina were on top in most area’s and recorded a very good win on the score of Ballina 5-8; Kilruane MacDonaghs 0- 2. Below is a picture of the Ballina panel on the day. We also have a picture of a Ballina/Killaloe team from circa 1942 courtesy of Paddy Collins. As well as a contrast in the playing attire, the number of players on a Camogie team has also changed. Camogie was a 12-a-side game back then & up to the early 2000’s
