Already unable to use my bus pass before 9.30 (can currently use earlier No. 25). May be withdrawn. Slade A lot of pensioners catch the bus. The bus is a good service. Barnwood For social events on Thursday evenings. Charlton Kings Until now, times/routes of flexible services difficult to judge whether worse/better/same. Rodborough As an OAP, the bus is essential to get to the top of town. Valley Removal of all Saturday afternoon buses. Could we be left with two? Uplands This is a vital service to get residents home with shopping, etc., up very steep hills and to health services. Lots of elderly Uplands passengers for whom it provides a vital link to town. Leisure activities are important as well, but no category to cover these. 8 service currently runs from Stroud town centre to Uplands then onto Mason road and then back into Stroud bus station, Uplands and 5 minutes later it will do the same service but in the other direction. the service takes on average about 25 minutes and will leave the bus station every 10 past and twenty to the hour. The bus serves a care home, and Stroud general hospital so it is essential the services continue. I think that if the bus was to go in one direction only every 10 past the hour serving the uplands area first it will save the council money because it will still serve all essential areas and it will free up a bus to do another service between the 8 service. because there have been many problems in the past where the bus has not arrived to do the service because the company operating it has not got enough buses. The best way to do this would be for the bus to start off the day doing an 8 service then between each 8 service it should go onto do the 36 service to Kingscou rt which also takes about 25 mins and then when it returns back to Stroud it will be in time to do another 8 service and the services would carry on like that throughout the day. The 1815 service 8a from Merrywalks connects nicely with a journey 93 from Gloucester and if it is withdrawn will create a difficulty. The above depends on three return services being diverted to Summer Street where I live to replace the 25 service, with the Valley first at or around 9.30am. I also use this route where there are large gaps in the current 25 service. I object to losing the last service of the day (8A at 18.15pm) which is very useful. I think the 8A would be better run as a continous 8 ie one direction only at half-hourly intervals as the present alternating service gives large gaps at some stops on the route. Returning from Stroud is difficult especially in the afternoons where there is no 3.10 or 4.10 and the 8 at 3.40pm is standing room only because of schoolchildren. This will be worse if the 25 at 4pm is taken off. Walking to the nearest bus stop is too far from the end of our area (3/4 mile)for the elderly and disabled who form the majority of current bus users. If the 8/8A is diverted via Summer Street with the first journey around 9.30pm this would be a great improvement. Mid and late afternoon journeys are also needed. For other comments see 25 service. I live in Quedgeley and work in Tewkesbury. For me to get home after work I am forced to catch 3 buses via Quedgeley Fieldcourt Cheltenham, Gloucester, then into Quedgeley. It is very hard work. Service should remain as at present with an hourly service after 08.30 everyday. Quedgeley Fieldcourt As I work nights both options will affect my options of getting to work by public transport. Quedgeley Severn Vale Berkeley will be cut off, not much left. Berkeley Depends on the actual timing of the two hourly via Kingsway for Option 1. Dursley Bus service rail bus 210 is an absolute lifeline for me and many others. Dursley Worse if you only have Dursley to Quedgeley and then have to change to another bus as it could be difficult to go Dursley further, or could miss connections. It is bad enough when the bus breaks down. Do not cut services please. I work evenings and in the dark or bad weather it is not safe as lone female to travel. Hardwicke Mainly for going shopping, but there is not at bus at 14.15 to get to Dursley before 15.00, i.e. for the children Cam West coming out of school. if an evening bus was only run on a Fri/sat i would be limited seeing family and having a social drink with them on Quedgeley Fieldcourt other nights Of the 2 options option 1 is the lesser of 2 evils. I often return from work after 8.30 p.m. after a long journey and Quedgeley Severn Vale both these options would mean I would incur more expense. It also means that I would be unable to attend social events in the Town Centre particularly evening midweek rugby matches at Kingsholm. If either proposal has to occur, then option 1 is the better as it provides people with a method to get to/from the city Quedgeley Severn Vale centre. Otherwise, people on already tight budgets will be forced to use private transport. This will also increase the number of cars parking in Gloucester of an evening, something that is normally opposite to most council parking policies. People are getting the impression that they are getting little value for money from their council taxes, so adding a further burden of reducing bus services seems flawed. Unless statistical evidence can be provided that the buses are not providing the taxpayer value for money during the evening service (i.e. they are underused) then no change should occur on any route. The number 14 bus is now almost empty at 09.00 because we cannot use our bus pass. The number 14 bus is The Stanleys now full by the time it gets to Stonehouse so people getting on have to stand all the way to Gloucester, even when getting on at Kingsway or Quedgeley. Young mothers with pushchairs are unable to get on as there is no Most of the buses run empty. Cut the quantity of buses to Kingsway and put the number 14 from Stroud to Hardwicke Gloucester back on the route to go pass the Starting Gate. Prefer the service remains as the existing. Quedgeley Fieldcourt The Stanleys are not mentioned. Will the Stroud/Gloucester service still go via the Stanleys? The Stanleys Desire late evening service to return from meetings in Gloucester. Uplands The times of the bus to Cheltenham/Gloucester needs to tie in with arrival times in Stroud. Chalford Very disappointed with the roadshow. They could not answer any questions. A waste of time. Severn I am relieved that the hourly service will be retained throughout the day, thank you. Will the Sunday service be The Stanleys continued as at present? Even out the timetables of the 91/A and the 14B better between Gloucester and Quedgeley to give an hourly Quedgeley Severn Vale service. As I work nights both options will affect my options of getting to work by public transport. Quedgeley Severn Vale I start work at Waterwells at 08.00 and leave at 17.00, 5 days per week. Severn It's such a shame to make public transport unpopular in the county and council's madness!! Amberley and Woodchester A very good service, frequent buses, friendly drivers. Stonehouse 14A is for paid employment, 113 is for shopping and leisure. Severn The members of Leonard Parish Council agreed that option 2 was the better of the choices. What about the Sunday 14B services? Value this service as only bus from Merrywalks/Cainscross/Stonehouse Sandywell on these days and used for work journeys to Stroud Station. Longer journeys require connections at Gloucester. Central If the hourly service to Stroud was made a seperate route, then it could include Old Hempsted, instead of going Westgate down the bypass. The remainder of the 14 service could be rescheduled to a 20 minute service. We need this bus to run every day, not just Friday and Saturday, to Stroud, unless you provide another route to Farmhill and Paganhill Stroud in the evening. A bus service for Hempsted bypass is needed. Westgate This service is not an adequate substitute for OAPs returning with shopping and faced with a 10 minute walk Westgate uphill. Could some journeys be diverted via Hempsted Lane? There is no mention of any changes to the Sunday service An earlier routs to Stroud would better serve my needs - I currently have to walk from Kings Stanley to Ryeford to catch the 20 need evening buses as public sector workers are unable to fund increasing taxi fares without pay rises Quedgeley Fieldcourt The proposal is 1) reduce the evening service, or 2) remove it altogether apart from Friday and Saturday. This Quedgeley Fieldcourt would leave Kingsway without an evening bus service, there is no other link to Gloucester city centre. We often attend evening meetings at central locations, or enjoy social evenings out, and rely on the bus service to get to and from these! As far as I know they are not making any changes to these but routes that i use. I will be affected by some other bus route changes which i know you are proposing to change such as the 26. Chalford and the large surrounding area has a very large size, not similar i would say to Stonehouse. Therefore I think it is very important that this bus service is not reduced as so many people use it for work, school, shopping and communication. I understand some routes are not making you money but this one is an incredibly important one. Kingsway was built as a commuter Village and we already suffer from poor transport links as it is. For people Quedgeley Fieldcourt who want to go into the city in the evening for meetings and socially will suffer because of these changes. There is not enough Parking on Kingsway and so we are encouraged to use public transport more. Many residents work in Bristol, Innsworth and Cheltenham, a well priced bus service would see the uptake rate rise. Reducing the evening service will be very restrictive to residents who work later and get the Train into Gloucester and the bus home. Ideally the Shuttle Bus could drop at Waterwells P&R because there is a waiting room on site and the buses are Severn more frequent than linking with the other Quedgeley services. Option 2 would give a minimum service which would be OK for me currently while in work full-time but would not be any good for other current users who travel for shopping or visiting family members. OF US HAVE FOUND THAT WHEN WE SHOW OUR SENIOR BUS PASS AND TELL THE DRIVER THE NAME OF OUR BUS STOP, SOME DRIVERS TEND TO PUNCH THE FURTHEST STOP, WHICH WE BELIEVE IS TOTALLY WRONG e.g.. if we board the bus @ the boots stop to come to say, either Sainsburys/or secunda way stops, some drivers have punched quedgeley tesco/kingsway stop; on confronting the driver, he has simply told us 'it does not make any difference to you.' SO WHY ARE SOME PUNCHING THE WRONG DESTINATION ? for more profit to Stagecoach ? they must get extra money for the distance we have NOT travelled. Suggestion: The County Council should clearly state somewhere obvious, in the bus/bus stops/shelter, that passengers should check their tickets, to make sure that it shows the correct destination on their ticket, and if that is not the case, then who/where they can go to report this kind of fraud. This is clearly fraud committed by the bus-drivers and should be stopped immediately. * The same also tends to happen on bus service coming from heron way also because we know of pensioners who travel to and from that area. * We would also like to have the old times back when we can use our senior bus passes at 9am, instead of 9.30pm - if we have an early morning go/hospital appointment then we have to pay, and it is rather difficult for us, pensioners, and this is causing us further hardship in these times of osterity. thank you for taking this on board. WITHDRAWING THIS EVENIONG SERVICE WOULD NECESSITATE USING EITHER A TRAIN OR TAXI TO RETURN HOME FROM GLOUCESTER. The number 14 is a vital service to the people of Kingsway. After all this is built as a green village yet there are Quedgeley Fieldcourt proposed cuts to the bus service. I have just moved here and am looking to get rid of my car which of course wont be possible if the bus service is cut. This is a vital link to the centre of Gloucester for this area of Quedgley. the 14 service is essential in getting in and out of gloucester to work each morning and evening Quedgeley Fieldcourt I use the evening bus service instead of driving to an event. I feel that proposal 1 is best to continue to Quedgeley Fieldcourt accomodate the needs of people who rely on the evening service as part of their social life. This does not seem to be considered in the questions on this survey KINGS STANLEY PARISH COUNCIL is not aware of the needs of individual service users as it does not have the The Stanleys capacity to carry out in depth surveys of the travelling public. As this issue is receiving widespread publicity we hope that the service providers are also involved in this to encourage service users to give their feedback and keep using th services. The Parish Council regards service 14 as an essential link with the wider network and would not wsh to see any reduction in the level of service currently provided. The same would be true for any other service that passes regularly through Kings Stanley. The 14/b service needs more buses on sundays, bank holidays and evenings. To cut or reduce the service would Quedgeley Fieldcourt be incredibly detrimental to our neighbourhood. The only way I am able to continue adult education and work the late shifts that are a compulsory part of my Stonehouse job is by the running of at least one bus, Gloucester to the Stanleys, evenings after 7pm. The 9pm bus in particular is very convinent and often busy. I occasionally need to get from Gloucester to Cashes Green, Stroud after 6 pm. Currently I can get the 14 but it only gets me to Stonehouse, or much later to Stroud centre. There are no connecting services to Cashes Green at these times. I also use the 14 if I stay out late after work, but the latest service is 2300 and this is not late enough, plus again there is no connection to cashes Green. I also would like to be able to get from Bristol to Stroud late at night. Currently the latest train gets to Gloucester at the same time as the 14 leaves. Often there is a replacement bus service, which means I cannot get to stroud at all. By cutting the evening services in the week it would mean we could not get home from the centre on the week Quedgeley Fieldcourt days. We would not be able to attend meetings or be able to go to the cinema mid week with no evening bus. If reducing / withdrawing evening buses from Gloucester to Stroud altogether, replace with one mid-late evening bus on route 93 instead, allowing for Stroud persons to get back from Gloucester. Maybe extend to Nailsworth or Stonehouse?? a later night service would be great from town to kingsway and think this would be used a LOT Quedgeley Fieldcourt When is the information evening in Stonehouse or did you not think it necessary? Stonehouse this service is already only hourly, any less would make it unnatractive to use Stonehouse Use route 14 on Friday / Saturady evening to get into town. A reduction on these days will mean a take will be required, increasing pollution ect. Proposal 2 is preferred The evening service, or lack of it, will make a big difference to me getting around. If the service is axed it would make it very difficult for me to get to Cirencester as I don't drive. Chalford This bus runs once a week only from Eastcombe to Cirencester picking up at Eastcombe, Bussage, Brownshill, Chalford Hill, Chalford France Lynch, Chalford Vale, Frampton Mansell, Sapperton and Coates. It is a journey of approximately 10 miles and arrives in Cirencester at about 10.05 a.m. It is the only other bus we have out of our village known as France in the Parish of Chalford, apart from the 26 which runs hourly between France Lynch and Stroud. ** Any decision to axe this route would result in us finding it very difficult to get to/from Cirencester for bank and shopping needs. Chalford Living in Chalford Hill it is essential that we have a bus service to Cirencester albeit once a week. Also, a daily regular service to Chalford Stroud, whereby we can also connect to Cheltenham and Gloucester for hospital appointments and essential shopping. What happened to the promises made to ensure that rural districts have adequate public transport services? As this bus service the schools why can't this continue? Nobody was notified of any formal consultations. Chalford As the 22B bus is a school bus why can't this continue? Not notified of any formal consultations. Chalford This is an essential service in a rural area. The current service provides 4 hours in Cirencester, which is a comfortable level for Chalford shopping. The current service should be left as it is. This is a popular bus and the users have petitioned for its retention. Only service to Cirencester from our hilltop villages for Chalford people with no other means of transport. The suggestion to go into Stroud for a connection is totally impractical, especially for elderly people. The Parish Council strongly urges that this service should be continued. This bus is almost full each Thursday with passengers using it from all the villages - a good service straight down to Ermin Cheltenham. Too many unknowns. Once a bus service is lost it will never be reinstated - Option 2. Painswick Whiteway's residents are mainly elderly and do not drive. Our concerns are that we will not have a regular bus service. People Painswick aren't always able to know in advance when they need to go to town. Concern that bus passes won't be accepted, which adds financial strain. Option 1 is the preferred option but many points need clarifying. Will there be a weekly service to the surgery in Painswick? Will the vehicle use be easily accessible? ** Very good bus driver! Ermin I am 80 and in poor health. I have dogs and cats and have to shop for their food. I can walk at present, but for how much Painswick longer? The Ring and Ride is difficult to get. I have Glaucoma and Osteoporosis and Hypertension. I do not have a car and with flexible service it is not easy to keep an appointment. What about standing in the rain or snow Painswick with a load of shopping? Old and disabled people live up here. We cannot afford to run cars and rely on a regular bus service. Painswick If Option 1 was implemented would the connecting bus wait if the first bus ran late? Painswick Not enough information given on this leaflet to make a knowledgeable decision. Painswick The solution would be practical one, leaving me without transport by bus to Cheltenham. At nearly 78 I cannot cope with Ermin standing about for any length of time. There will be no means of getting to Cheltenham. I cannot transfer from one bus to another and have to wait or stand for any Ermin length of time. Only succesful if connecting services to Stroud, Cheltenham and Gloucester can ensure adequate shopping time and gauranteed Painswick return journey back to villages. This is minimum & only service for the village which has no local facilities available. Ermin We have one bus a week .The only other public transport is to get to Brimpsfield which is two "hilly"miles away. Some elderly Ermin persons could become completely isolated . Service Number 25

This service is a lifeline for a lot of people in the Sunner Street area, etc., who have no food shop within walking distance. They Valley also need to get to the doctor, dentist, etc. Please keep as many of these buses as you can running. Option 1 - The early morning journey is very useful, as we can use our bus passes on it (before 9.30). Option 2 - People may not Slade be able to use their bus passes on community transport. Better to keep the service but change the fares. 8.45 to town, 10.40 return - it is my lifeline. Valley Service No 25 - 25 bus goes to Summer Crescent, too far to walk with shopping if you get the 8/8a to Cross Hands. Valley If Option 2 was implemented we might have to leave our home in Bisley. Bisley 1. Early bus is essential for the doctor's surgery. 2. A later bus back to Bisley would be good. Bisley Essential for people who are non-drivers, also for appointments, etc. Bisley These buses are essential for shopping and appointments if you can't drive. Bisley I use the early bus regularly as it is more convenient for health appointments. Bisley We only have a skeleton timetable as it is. We need more buses along Summer Street. The 08.45 service is well used and Valley essential. None of the number 25 passengers want the 08.37 bus from Bisley altered as this will leave us with even less flexibility for vital Bisley services, especially as you are also proposing to withdraw the 11.06 bus. Some of us have to travel to the doctors at Bussage via Stroud on the number 26, which could turn into an all day event. We are an isolated village with no other way of connecting with a bus service to Stroud. It will seriously affect us.** Preference for a regular service. Bisley Would prefer a regular service to be maintained. Bisley This service is a life-line to some people and many in Summer Street etc. do not drive. The first proposal to cut one bus per day would be bad enough, but the second proposal is downright ludicrous! You would have to know in advance when you were going to be ill and need the Doctor, Dentist, etc. and although services such as 'Ring and Ride' provide a possible alternative if appointments can be booked in advance, they are just not realistic in practice. Apart from all this, pensioners, the disabled etc. at the moment can travel freely on bus services and with proposal 2 that would not be possible. If it was possible to have a circular route from Stroud, Bisley, Eastcombe, Bussage, Toadsmoor Valley, Stroud it would be a far Bisley more useful service enabling people living in Bisley to get to the doctors surgery, chemist and Tesco Express in Bussage, Bowbridge Vets, Waitrose, Stroud Hospital and Stroud for connections to other services. I appreciate that this would not help people living in Oakridge, but I feel this service would be used much more than the existing route which is not particularly useful. proposal 1: I do not understand the thinking behind withdrawing the early morning journey, as I feel this is the one which most people need to get to work and school. I realise that the early service is not very well used at the moment, but this could change if the first bus into Stroud left earlier, so that people could get to work, school and/or college on time. It would also be sensible to try and link the times of the bus with train services to Swindon and Cheltenham. Re proposal 2: Personally, I would be keen to use this, depending on how it will work. I feel it would be most useful if there was an earlier departure into Stroud (see above) and a later return journey from Stroud to Bisley. Further suggestion: Extend the route of the number 26 bus to Bisley, at least for every second time this bus runs, to provide extra options. AT A TIME WHEN WE ARE WORKING TOWARDS PROTECTING THE ENVIRONMENT, THE COST OF PETROL IS EXTREMELY HIGH AND PARKING IN STROUD IS BEC OMING MORE EXPENSIVE, IT IS ESSENTIAL THAT PUBLIC TRANSPORT IS SAVED AND PEOPLE ARE ACTIVELY ENCOURAGED TO USE IT! Not enough information is available to make a definite choice. If 3 return journeys can be provided Summer Street to Stroud Valley Mon-Sat from around 9.30pm returning 1 1/2 to 2 hours later, and the last journey late afternoon, that would be an adequate replacement for the current service. Having to book ahead or not to be able to use my pensioner free bus pass would be much worse though I wouldn't mind paying if that is the choice between having a service or not at all. I have no alternative to using public transport and no one to do my essential shopping etc. I am writing on behalf of people (240 homes) in the Summer Street area. Our current bus users depend substantially on the buses for essential transport and are extremely worried about losing any services. Many elderly and disabled people use the 25 service, have no car and cannot afford taxis or community transport for which one has to pay. To attend hospital outpatients at Gloucester and Cheltenham, we need a connecting bus early in the day and returning late afternoon. If Option 1 can provide 3 return services starting around 9.30am and continuing through the day this will be an acceptable alternative to the current 25 service. Option 2 is considered by the people I have spoken to as worse if it means payment and/or booking ahead. If it just means a smaller bus, that is acceptable. Service Number 26

Access to doctor in Eastcombe might be affected, therefore "worse" service. Bisley Perhaps the 3 services, 29, 54 and 26 could be seperated at Brimscombe Corner as all 3 arrive at the same time. Minchinhampton Reinstate the 16.45 bus. An important service for schools and elderly passengers. Bisley Now that I cannot travel until 09.30 using my pass, it is essential that bus times are adjusted to meet the 49 or 93 Chalford services. The 4.45 bus is always full. Why not cancel the last bus of the day, the 18.45. Chalford This service timing should be adjusted to meet buses to/from Gloucester and Cheltenham. Chalford I get on at the first stop in France Lynch. The 26 always fails to get into Stroud in time to catch the 93 to Chalford Gloucester, sometimes only missing it by a minute then a whole hour is wasted. Appointments in Gloucester are impossible to keep. This is one of the extra buses run between the hourly services during the rush hour. It is used by shoppers and Chalford students coming from Stroud and could lead to overcrowding if the regular bus is withdrawn. The proposals for the 26 route from Bussage to Stroud won't affect me as I tend to only use the bus service on Chalford Saturdays to get to the farmers market at Stroud. I have noticed that the services you propose cutting don't seem to be used very much so I don't think it would have an adverse effect. If this bus were to be cut completely there would be a lot of people in Eastcombe,Bussage, Brownshill,CHalford Hill and France Lynch who would,in effect, be stranded with no means of transport. This service is well used some busses are standing room only by the time it reaches Stroud,it is used by the elderly, school children, workers and young mums with children. It serves a wide area. The withdrawal of these buses will greatly affect many children who would like to stay after school for clubs and Thrupp extra exam tuition. It may also affect the childrens safety as some may have to walk home or wait outside the school for lenghty periods until they can get a lift home. The time being withdrawn (1707 from France Lynch) is the main 'clocking off' times for employers. There are many Valley businesses along the London Road - how are people meant to get home? will this proposal affect school children who need to stay after school at Thomas Keble - will they still be able to get home? My son is a year 7 pupil at Thomas Keble School and along with many other children attends after school clubs Thrupp several nights a week. Withdrawing the bus service which enables him to get home safely will jeopardise this. We live at the bottom of Toadsmoor so it is out of the question for him to walk home. I feel very stronly that a saving could be made by considering changing the concessions for older people. I am very Thrupp grateful for the bus pass, I use it quite alot. I can leave my car at home and it saves on carpark fees, petrol and therefore it's better for the environment. But, I would be happy to contribute something towards my fare, say up to half price if it keeps the timetable as it is (or more or less). Use the Pension Credit as a indicator of who should retain free fares. The 26 service has allready had cuts in the last 2 years. I use the service twice a week to vist my Grandad, do his Eastington and Standish shopping and clean his flat. Living in Standish I walk 25 mins through Standish woods to catch the 37 bus from cashes green primary school into stroud and then get in the 26, before returning again. The 26 is already far too infrequent, unreliable, and stops far too early in the evening. It connects badly or not at Minchinhampton all with the 46. Removing the 4.45 outward journey would often cause a connection waiting period of nearly an hour. Service Number 28/28A

How is one supposed to visit a relative in Cirencester Hospital during the visiting time of 2 until 5 p.m.,when there Minchinhampton are no buses leaving from Minchinhampton? Do you intend to stop Cirencester altogether in option 1? 1) The Saturday service has a good pattern. 2) No early services to Stroud causes problems. Thames Head Option 1 to both services. Minchinhampton If I have an appointment at Gloucester Hospital mid morning I have to catch the 07.30 from Rodborugh and then Thrupp wait 2/3 hours in Stroud to continue onto Stroud to be able to use my bus pass. Making appointments in Stroud, let alone Gloucester is very difficult when we have an infrequent service. Two buses in the morning and afternoon is not adequate. The elderly and workers need a better service. Your evening consultations aren't suitable. ** Cut out villages and have more buses at peak times for school/work and between Cirencester and Stroud in the Cirencester Watermoor evenings. We need buses from Minchinhampton and back to various places for various reasons. Minchinhampton There should be an early bus to Stroud. Thames Head I work in Coates 2 mornings a week. My hours (4 in all) have been adjusted so that I can travel between Cirencester Cirencester Beeches and Coates independently. I've ticked "same" but depends upon the times you choose to run the service. Middle of the day is essential to the elderly shopper and to be able to get to Stroud and shop and return without a long wait, or on an overcrowded school bus. I travel 4 days out of 6 on service 28/28a, no Sunday as no service. Minchinhampton I need to get to Bear at Rodborough and sometimes 54 from Cirencester gets back too late for my connection to No. Thrupp 28, which is last bus to Rodborough. Does this mean that Box and Minchinhampton residents won't be able to travel to Cirencester by bus? Minchinhampton Better time spacing of buses from Stroud to Minchinhampton would be a great help. However, it is very Minchinhampton disappointing that no service to Cirencester is being considered. The better spacings would be an improvement, no service to Gloucester is a retrograde step. Minchinhampton For those without a car the bus is an essential link and the Parish Council believes that opportunities for access to Thames Head work, schools, health services and shopping, albeit at a reasonable cost. Must minimise impact on the most vulnerable. Saturday service most appropriate for OAPs and those without cars as allows a 2 hour stay. Sharing school services is a sensible choice. The 881 link to Kemble Station is a useful work/leisure travel option.** I think that the service is just right how it is. It is a silly idea to change to buses, if anything they should be more Minchinhampton frequent during the daytime. It is very annoying to need to go to Stroud for an half hour appointment and need to wait another hour to catch the bus home again. The lack of buses between Cirencester and Stroud at weekends is a real limit for many people socially and Cirencester Watermoor economically. On weekdays could there not be more liaison/cost sharing with the grammar schools in Stroud and cirencester college both of which shift large numbers of students between the two towns. Surely double deckers should be an option on some routes. Not made clear regarding the Route onto Cirencester(this part is at present a commercial route, not susidised) which Minchinhampton is vital for the collge, a link up with the 54/54A which goes via Chalford to Cirencester for anybody from Minchinhampton would be totaly impractical for college etc. Had great difficulty clarifying this with GCC personnel it took three phone calls to get any sort of answer dispite assurances that some one would get back to me on the first two occassions. Not acceptable Not made clear regarding the Route onto Cirencester(this part is at present a commercial route, not susidised) which Minchinhampton is vital for the collge, a link up with the 54/54A which goes via Chalford to Cirencester for anybody from Minchinhampton would be totaly impractical for college etc. Had great difficulty clarifying this with GCC personnel it took three phone calls to get any sort of answer dispite assurances that some one would get back to me on the first two occassions. Not acceptable An earlier bus from Coates to Stroud would be very good Thames Head Service Number 29

We need low floor, easy access buses too, on the 29/620 route with better connection. Option 1 to both services. Minchinhampton We need buses from Minchinhampton and back to various places for various reasons. Minchinhampton My mother is severely disabled and I use the bus service every week to help her. I cannot get to Stonehouse any other Tetbury way. The Tetbury meeting between 10 and 2p.m. was unfair as people are at work. There is a need to be able to reach Westonbirt and beyond to Yate and Bath. Services 29 and 620 appear currently to do Tetbury this. Better earlier. Tetbury I sometimes miss the 620 bus as the 29 does not always reach Tetbury on time. I then have long waits for the next 620 Grumbolds Ash bus. I came to the information evening as I am very concerned about losing the number 29. I was told it isn't going to be withdrawn as very important to a lot of people. I found that a taxi would charge £25 from Tetbury to Stroud. There is no railway service to Tetbury. I also like to visit other places, such as Yate. ** Reducing the availability of the buses will no doubt increase the numbers of private cars on the road, like mine. Tetbury Options are so vague it is difficult to choose. Not being able to use the bus pass before 09.30 already causes problems. A Minchinhampton bus is needed from Minchinhampton to Stroud at 09.30, returning just before 11.00. My wife is 75 and housebound - shopping, pay bills, etc. Service satisfactory at present. This letter is in reference to public transport from Tetbury to Malmesbury on a Wednesday and Friday, supplied by Tetbury Cotswold Green, Avening Road, Nailsworth. This public service is vital to the residents of Tetbury and Malmesbury. I personally use this service twice a week.. My doctor is in Malmesbury, as I am in very poor health this transport is vital. Gordon Brown declared, while in power, we should have freedom of choice for medical treatment * This letter is in reference to public transport from Tetbury to Malmesbury on a Wednesday and Friday, supplied by Tetbury Cotswold Green, Avening Road, Nailsworth. Gordon Brown declared, while in power, we should have freedom of choice for medical treatment * I need a bus to Cirencester from Stroud twice a week. Nailsworth Not very good, very often late. Tetbury Please improve the connections with the Tetbury to Bath service. I can then use the bus instead of the train to get to work. Valley

I visit a severely disabled friend in Tetbury regularly. Live in Dursley and the only way to get there is to catch the 20 to Dursley Stroud and then the 29 to Tetbury. Have 2.5 hours in Tetbury before I must return to Stroud at 14.01, to catch the return bus to Dursley. If these times change there will be no way of getting to Tetbury.** Perhaps the 3 services, 29, 54 and 26 could be seperated at Brimscombe Corner as all 3 arrive at the same time. Minchinhampton I need the bus to get to and from hospital, need to see the physiotherapist at Stroud Hospital. Tetbury The 09.59 from Tetbury seldom arrives in Stroud on time to travel on the 46 to Cheltenham, departing at 10.40. Tetbury Punctuality could be improved, especially of non-school services. Minchinhampton Option 1 is my preference but I am concerned that no Saturday service is being considered. I am delighted that day trips Minchinhampton to Bath are being considered. Would like a bus to Nailsworth. Tetbury As I work in Thrupp, there is no option but to catch the bus. Central I think that the service is just right how it is. It is a silly idea to change to buses, if anything they should be more frequent Minchinhampton during the daytime. It is very annoying to need to go to Stroud for an half hour appointment and need to wait another hour to catch the bus home again. AT MEETING IN JANUARY IMPROVEMENTS TO THE CONNECTIONS BETWEEN SERVICES 29 & (BATH - TETBURY -BATH)620 Nailsworth WOULD BE IMPLEMENTED FROM 04 APRIL 2011. THIS HAS NOT HAPPENED. SUGGEST IF COTSWOLD GREEN CAN NOT PROVIDE IMPROVED SERVICE, CONTRACT GOES TO WESSEX CONNECT WHO OPERATE THE BATH (620) SERVICE. At present I catch the 10:00am bus to Stroud and if it is to be cut out it would cause me problems for shopping and Tetbury getting to Gloucester for hospital appointments. Existing services are essential as I have no other form of transport Tetbury My bus allows me to enjoy a social life and more importantly helps me get to work as well as allowing me to get essential Avening shopping for my mother and grandmother who i care for, the buses would be even more beneficial if they were slightly more regular Widening the route to cover Nailsworth (a substantial size town) would enable access to Tetbury and ultimately Bath and Nailsworth also connect Minchinhampton , to Nailsworth more easily and Tetbury to Nailsworth. All of which are within a few miles of eachother. This may then remove the need for some of the other shorter, less frequent and unconnected services between these places. Service Number 35 (Stroud)

We are limited with poor health and without a car, could not cope without a regular bus. Coleford East Please keep the Monday to Friday departure to 15.10 from Stroud, thank you. Rodborough May change in the future as my health changes. Rodborough Elderly people rely on the bus and have limited money. When you have an estate with elderly people Rodborough living on it, a bus is their only form of transport. The elderly suffer again! Not allowing people to use their free bus passes until 09.30 is a real hardship to people trying to get to an Rodborough early medical or dental appointment. The changes may affect me if my health deteriorates. Rodborough The farmers market will lose customers. The market is important to draw in visitors. Rodborough Does not go back to English Bucknor. Christchurch and English Bicknor Until now, times/routes of flexible services difficult to judge whether worse/better/same. Rodborough Unable to attend any early or emergency or short notice appointments. Link with the number 93 bus. Rodborough Last service will be too early on a Saturday, especially with connecting with longer journeys. Not able to Rodborough plan easily because of health issues so Dial A Ride not good. and many of my neighbours do not drive so the 36 bus service is a lifeline for us especially as we live on a Rodborough very steep hill with narrow pavements and a very high volume of traffic. I am in my fifties and although reasonably fit, find the walk uphill very tiring and almost impossible with shopping! Some of my neighbours are in their eighties and to deprive them of their bus service would mean depriving them of their independence. Parent passengers who pick up pupils at our two junior schools Rod borough and Gastrells (3.10pm service) will now be penalised for taking the sensible option of catching the bus instead of driving. Despite pleas from residents to County Council, to curtail heavy traffic, it continues to thunder across the common (sometimes mounting the narrow pavements) and this deters many parents tackling the steep walk with small children. Haphazard street parking is very often a dangerous obstacle to pushchairs. For many young adults from R olling the virtues of them and as a result filling buses... not car parks! I strongly object to these cuts as they will ultimately force more people into cars and leave those who do not have this option... vulnerable and isolated! Times that link with the 46 and 93 services at Stroud bus station are an important consideration Rodborough I rely on the 10 past 12 to kingscourt to get to work as I dont drive, and the 2:23 back again to stroud to Valley be home for my children one of which has speacial needs and epipleptic Service Number 40

It might be better for us in Horsley if we had three journeys every day to Wotton and back. Nailsworth The community needs these services. This service is vital for me. It enables me to attend the Ophthalmology Department at Stroud Hospital. Wotton-under-Edge If this bus is taken off myself and others will never go to Nailsworth or Stroud. We haven't a car to fall back on. Wotton-under-Edge Dursley has a lot more buses than us, why? We all pay Council Tax. Cannot comment without knowing times of the journeys in option 2. I use the bus in preference to the car Wotton-under-Edge because of the environmental impact. Impossible to get to the train station. Also, impossible to get to hospital appointments. Wotton-under-Edge We will have no service at all. Wotton-under-Edge Route 40 at its best only just provides a necessary link with train connections at Stroud. Any change will Wotton-under-Edge probably break this tenuous link. Soon I will be unable to afford to run a car, so a bus service is imperative for me to continue working in Stroud. We will have no service to Stroud at all and a lot of us have no car. How much money have the Council got in Wotton-under-Edge offshore bank accounts? Are the Executives taking pay cuts? It appears that the Council is very willing to take the taxes needed but very reluctant to provide some of the most basic needs for Wotton. We appear last in line for consideration. We have no choice of shops. Reduction in journeys would be better. I am disabled and find it difficult to catch a bus from Kingswood to Wotton each way to catch this bus, Kingswood otherwise would use it more often. Need to get to Stroud's railway station for the 10.10 train to London. Wotton-under-Edge It is the only way to get to the railway station for the 10.10 train to London. Wotton-under-Edge The current timetable allows me to use the bus to work in Nailsworth from Wotton, but there is no return Wotton-under-Edge evening/late afternoon bus on a Saturday. I need the link through to Stroud to get to hospital appointments in Cheltenham (cancer treatment.) The 09.00 Wotton-under-Edge bus is essential to me. Catch the bus from Horsley (0924) to Nailsworth to connect to the bus for Stroud for the doctors, to do my shopping in Nailsworth. I return at 12.43 to Horsley. It would depend on the times to fit in with work. Nailsworth Option 2 would make life impossible for active people who no longer run a car. Nailsworth I don't use this service, but sometimes it goes to Stroud, which is duplicating routes 46 and 93. Re-route the 40 Nailsworth from Nailsworth, through to Avening and Tetbury from Wotton, or even Dursley. Passengers from Wotton wishing to travel to Stroud could use a transfer ticket to continue their journey to Stroud, either on route 46 or 93. By re-routing service number 40 through to Avening and Tetbury, it would give people more scope for shopping. ** To visit the doctor/dentist I have to walk one way and sometimes both ways. I had to have a taxi from Stroud Nailsworth Hospital as there was no bus to Horsley. I have a grandson that works part-time in Nailsworth and also goes to Stroud College. His sister will be starting college in September. They must be able to have access to public transport. The Government tells us to use the buses, we cannot use what we haven't got. My car went years ago. ** If all buses to Gloucester, Bristol and Stroud are cut, Wotton will be completely cut off from any town and will Wotton-under-Edge be like an island. I appreciate that some service will have to be cut but compared to Dursley, we do not have a very good service as it is. Why do they always have to be considered so much better than Wotton? Please do not take the bus off from Wotton. A reduced service could be manageable and preferable. Wotton-under-Edge Getting to hospital appointments. Wotton-under-Edge Option would be okay as long as there was several buses going and not just one per day. Nailsworth The number 40 gives access to Stroud Hospital and links to bus services to Cheltenham. These links would be Wotton-under-Edge lost. Why go to Cam and Dursley Station, how are we linking with Dursley/Stroud bus number 20? Is the driver Wotton-under-Edge staying there until it's time to come back. There are no toilets at this station. The services are spaced only once every 2 hours, it should be hourly! Amberley and Woodchester Why isn't there an early morning service to arrive in Stroud by 8.00 a.m., enabling people to work a day shift? Kingswood I go to Wotton via Stroud to see my elderly parents so Option 1 would be better than Option 2. Westgate Possibly be better if buses co-ordinate giving better scope to travel to other areas of the county. Nailsworth You could save money by cutting it back to Nailsworth (connect with 46), but I need a regular service. Prestbury I am elderly and need the doctor surgery in Nailsworth, so Option 1 is much better and also, I need the bus to Nailsworth go shopping. A service linking Nailsworth with Cam and Dursley Train Station, would be of great benefit in visiting Bristol, Nailsworth especially for retired people who are not wishing, or able to, take a car into the centre of Bristol. Without evening buses I am seldom getting outside Nailsworth/Horsley, except to shop or get to the doctors. A Nailsworth service to Cam Station would be very good, e.g. Bristol Airport or the centre. Not being able to use the pass before 09.30 severely restricts the service that I can provide for a relative in Wotton and any further complications cause great hardship. I go to the dentist in Wotton and don't want to wait 3 hours for a bus back. Central Need to visit family. Wotton-under-Edge I am not on the phone and live in a village with no public payphone. A Dial A Ride service will be of no use to me. I have occasional outpatient appointments at Stroud Hospital and lifts are not always available. Wotton-under-Edge Lack of a regular service to Stroud would be very inconvenient. Nailsworth I strongly support option 1 for Service 40.If anything the extension of the journey to Cam and Dursley rail station improves options for travel to Glos and Bristol while maintaining the Wotton link to Stroud as it is at the moment. My friend and i live in Wotton under Edge and if you remove the 40 route we won't be able to get to Wotton-under-Edge Nailsworth or Stroud for all of the ticked above reasons and please work out how much a taxi would charge and you will find the bus route to be cheaper because as on low income it is impossible to afford taxi services.Me and my friend uses route 40 every week day from 9am to 5.45pm Travel would be improved as far as Wotton-under-Edge if connections were made with Bristol bound First 'Bus Nailsworth 311. Wotton-under-Edge to and from Dursley journeys are covered by First 'Bus 311. Option 1 would improve access to Cam and Dursley trains, good for me. Please get the bus and train times Wotton-under-Edge integrated. I use this service from Stroud to Horsley 4 days per week. I can just get the last bus if the train arrives on time. Nailsworth So if you channge the frequency please bear the train times in mind. I would also use the service in the morning if it arrived in time for the London train at 7:05am. I like the idea of this route being extended to Dursley. If you went with Option 2, I should like to know in advance which 3 journies would be running. My Son is at Wotton-under-Edge Stroud College; he travels in to Stroud on the 504 (School Bus) and returns to Wotton on the 40 which leaves Stroud at 5.30pm. I need to know that he can still continue his education. Regarding Option 1, I most likely will not be able to afford to travel to Stroud if I have to travel via Dursley unless you are going to come to an agreement between Stagecoach and FirstBus that cuts the cost of passengers having to use two different bus companies. It currently costs me 6.00 for an Explorer ticket (also my Son purchases an Explorer for his college travel). It costs me 3.25 one way from Wotton on FirstBus, and then 3.30 on Stagecoach to Stroud (if travelling from Cam). I don't know the return cost for either service but it will still cost more than I am currently paying, therefore I may be unable to afford to travel to Stroud any more. Proposal 1 Why are you planning to extend in a reverse direction? Extend to Yate station. Its only 3 miles further. Proposal 2 Why the need to continue to Stroud? Is this for the convenience of the operator? Nailsworth to Stroud well served. Operate from Nailsworth to Yate station offer people as real alternative. Alternative Change operator to South Gloucestershire. Request they operate one of their Yate to Wotton services to Nailsworth every 2 or 3 hours Service Number 46

Important service for tourism in the area, both for commuting and tourism. Essential service. Park I'm lucky to have the 46 service to town from Exmouth Arms, Bath Road, those at the top of Leckhampton are College not so lucky. NO OTHER BUSES PASS. Now the bus passes for senior citizens cannot start until after 09.30. It makes it harder if you have early Rodborough medical appointments. I wish there was an earlier bus to Cheltenham. I often have to get a taxi for early appointments at the hospital. Nailsworth Option one is by far the best option. Nailsworth The times of the bus to Cheltenham/Gloucester needs to tie in with arrival times in Stroud. Chalford Not allowing people to use their free bus passes until 09.30 is a real hardship to people trying to get to an early Rodborough medical or dental appointment. Routes 46 and 93 should be kept as they are. Route 261 should be cut to 3 days, i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Nailsworth Thursday, twice a day, say 09.30 and 11.30, returning at 14.00, or later. This would leave ample time for passengers to carry out any business either in Nailsworth or Stroud. Find the timing on the 46 Sunday service poor. Keep to the timetable. Amberley and Woodchester The number 46 is an essential service to travel to and from Cheltenham Hospital, please do not remove. I have Nailsworth no other means of transport. I do not use the route on Sundays. Amberley and Woodchester Do not use the Sunday service. Amberley and Woodchester We are retired but still want to travel by bus - off peak concessionary used. If we all paid £1 each per journey, Nailsworth regardless of distance, this would work. The Government's slashing them, it such a shame we are going backwards here! Amberley and Woodchester Need to help people get to Cheltenham, always busy, essential service for me to get to consultant. Central A Sunday direct route is better for elderly people. Painswick Miss the evening service. Sandywell This service is important because the alternative train journey is difficult, due to the train station in Cheltenham Central being located in a remote area. Brockworth is a risky bus stop. Important for retired people to enjoy travelling by bus. Nailsworth Don't have the information regarding the options. A lack of evening service is a problem. Connections to train Nailsworth stations could be improved. We use the Sunday service to get from Nailsworth to Painswick, and back again. The need is to return in the Valley middle of the day, the restricted Nailsworth and Brockworth service needs to be reasonably regular to be of use. Not being able to use the pass before 09.30 prevents attending morning appointments before 11.30. Also, due to the restrictions and the rural services, may not be able to do all that is needed in the same day. Keep the Sunday bus and reintroduce the evening service so I can see my family. Central Not much difference for me. Later and reliable service would be better. Rodborough I use the 96 as a day out for shopping, etc. Thrupp Have recently retired and did not have enough time to make comments in the first review. I rely on public Farmhill and Paganhill transport and although I am now in my 60s I still travel around the country a lot. I realise your main concern is to provide public transport for people's essential needs, but we should not forget that some people, like myself, rely on public transport for all my travelling needs whether pleasure of otherwise. ** We are ratepayers and part of our rates goes on road and transport, so we partly subsidise ourselves. We do College not agree with any of the cuts. We are not drivers. No bonuses or salary increases for any savings on bus cuts. Girls and women are in danger at Brockworth bus stop because it is isolated and passing cars harassing them. Central I catch the buses in Cainscross Road and during the winter/early evening, I am frightened by men in their cars hooting, shouting out and parking nearby. This could happen in Brockworth. It is dangerous for women to wait at Brockworth for the 46 bus as men in passing cars harass me. Central We are so lucky to have the services we do and we are very grateful for what is provided, not having our own Farmhill and Paganhill transport Would not be able to shop for the nursing home where I work. Grange I have to attend Stroud, Gloucester and Cheltenham hospitals, in relation to breast cancer aftercare. How will I Nailsworth be able to get there? Living in Shurdington the 10 & 46 bus service is terrible anyway. The buses are filthy, never on time and often Shurdington pass the bus stop early so people miss them. I also cannot buy a return ticket early in the morning when I need to travel, I have to buy a dayrider (the price of which has just increased again) when I am ever only going to make one return journey. It appeals me that the tax's I pay subsidise this substandard service. In my opinion all subsidies should be removed, it would force the bus companies to up their game and provide a decent commercial service. There is no reference, in relation to the Option 1 Sunday service for bus times out of Cheltenham to Stroud. I Cleeve West cannot tell how badly I am likely to be affected. On both options I cannot understand how the "Brockworth" interface might or might not work for me Option 2 would be better Valley We often use the Sunday buses, so please don't cut them. Changing at Brockworth is fine. It would also be Painswick wonderful for me to visit my children and grandchildren in the evenings without paying for a taxi. I brought my children up to be green and none of them drive. But 20 to 30 years ago we had buses until 10 p.m. and sometimes even later. We only get a bus once an hour as it is so why are you even considering cutting our buses. You need to Farmhill and Paganhill concentrate on the routes that have a bus every 10 minutes or so. This is just not necessary. Leave our rural services alone. We do not have cars and so have to rely on the bus and these buses 46 and 93 are main routes to cheltenham and Gloucester and are important to the people of Stroud. I would like to be able to get to Stroud from Nailsworth for 9am for work on a reliable basis, which at the Nailsworth moment is not possible as the arrival in stroud is past the hour. Required to attend Cheltenham General Hospital re Glaucoma. Monday to Friday 'bus leaves Nailsworth 'Bus Nailsworth Station at 15:00 during school term times, but terminates at Stroud Merrywalks in order to then pick up school children from Paganhill and Beards Lane schools to bring them into Stroud, a journey of 1 mile which these children are perfectly capable of walking. For non-driving elderly people in rural areas, travel for social reasons is more important than some of your Rodborough categories above! A reduction in the Sunday service will affect Sunday workers and also visitors to the Gloucester or Cheltenham hospitals. Option 2 will lengthen the journey time of any traveller and Option 1 reduces the amount of time travellers can spend at their chosen destination. The reduction in public transport goes against the County Council's 10:10 commitment which was to reduce carbon by at least 2.5% every year after 2010, by reducing the public transport network, GCC is effectively encouraging people to use private cars. Better timetabling for early morning from Nailsworth would be very beneficial during the week. Nailsworth I would like the 46's timetable to be extended further into the evening and for it to run more frequently. It is Minchinhampton often impossible to make a connection at Stroud between the 26 and the 46 that allows me to arrive at work reliably, or to actually get home in the evening. The current service does not support flexible working hours. Also: a changeover in Brockworth is a bad idea - there is no suitable facility for the half-hour wait which can result. I object to all reductions in all bus services. The county council should be doing much more to make bus services available to a wider range of users. There should be better connecting services, especially in Stroud. Dedicated parking should be provided for bus users; where there is no service into Stroud you should not have to pay to park. The transport interchange project should not have been dropped. Instead of cutting services make them more accessible then more people will use them and you make more money. Service Number 54/54A

1) The Saturday service has a good pattern. 2) No early services to Stroud causes problems. Thames Head Cut out villages and have more buses at peak times for school/work and between Cirencester and Stroud in the Cirencester Watermoor evenings. Option one provides me with the chance to use the bus for work/college as I work in Stroud and go to Gloucester College. There should be an early bus to Stroud. Thames Head Any reduction in this service would be inconvenient for the needs of the travellers. This service is needed as there is Cirencester Watermoor no suitable bus link to Kemble Station, as the timetable to Kemble does not connect. The bus is the only viable way. The options are insufficiently specific, so it is impossible to assess the impact. Longlevens I need to get to Bear at Rodborough and sometimes 54 from Cirencester gets back too late for my connection to No. Thrupp 28, which is last bus to Rodborough. Long wait from 14.36 until 17.11. Mid-day services are useful as coincide with a.m./p.m. lesson blocks at college. Chalford Leaving Stroud at 7.39 a.m. is too early. My children will get to school too early. If the service left Stroud at 8 a.m. Painswick my children would be able to use it to get to school/college. For those without a car the bus is an essential link and the Parish Council believes that opportunities for access to Thames Head work, schools, health services and shopping, albeit at a reasonable cost. Must minimise impact on the most vulnerable. Saturday service most appropriate for OAPs and those without cars as allows a 2 hour stay. Sharing school services is a sensible choice. The 881 link to Kemble Station is a useful work/leisure travel option.** This is the only service in the Chalford Valley. Chalford The change to the bus service would also reduce the number of vehicles travelling back and forth to Cirencester and therefore be a good improvement for the environment. Cirenceseter Deer Park School recieved an Outstanding by Ofsted whereas Archway School in Stroud was put into Special Measures- this may well mean that the number of children attending Deer Park School will continue to increase over the coming years. I personally have 2 children who will be attending CDPS and I am aware that there may be at least 45 other children in the Stroud area who will be attending CDPS. My son is due to attend Deer Park school from September this year. the current bus time is too early for him in the Trinity mornings and i will have to end up driving him to school. options 1 and 2 would mean that i would no longer need to do this. given that there are about 45 children who travel daily from Stroud to attend Deer Park school, i believe that the bus service would be used by them all if the current time changed to option 1 or 2. Please retendee this service to Stagecoach, thus allowing persons from Stroud (with Stagecoach passes) the ability to get from Stroud to Ciren QUICKLY, without having to go via Cheltenham!!! We use the 54/54a daily during the week to get our children from Stroud to school in Cirencester. Because they take Trinity the bus I am able to have a part time job. I would not be able to have this job if the bus service was changed as I would have to take the children to school and collect them which is a minimum 45 minute round trip each time and cuts a lot out of the working day. Please do not take away the children's only available bus service to school. We really value this bus service in order to get our children to and from school. We particularly need the Thrupp opportunity to purchase the 12 tripper as transporting 3 children to Cirencester would otherwise be too expensive, especially with changes to our personal circumstances. The service is on the whole reliable At the moment the 54 bus leaves merry walks at 7:39 and arrives at deer park at 8:20. If it moves 15/20 mins then Trinity it will be more feasible for getting to school. Several new children are starting at Deerpark in September and encouraging children to use the bus rather than be driven by car can only be a good thing. The long day associated with bus travel is a factor that makes parents drive their children. I Travel to work in Stroud. I sometimes catch the 9:15 Chalford to Stroud, and sometimes the 12:15 depending on Chalford my shift. I work Monday to Friday and need the bus to travel to work Running the 07:39 service from Stroud to Cirencester 20 minutes or half an hour later would make it useful for me Painswick travelling to college. I have a child who is in year 8 and is currently attending Deer Park School in Cirencester. We live in Painswick and Painswick the only bus leaving from Stroud is at 7.39 am. Given the new proposals are looking to accomodate schools, colleges and workers it would be a massive help to us if the bus timetable shifted 20 minutes and left merrywalks station at 8.00am. My son will be starting school at Deer Park in September. If the 7.39am bus from Stroud was slightly later, say 7.50 Painswick or 8am, this would be much better. As I work in Cirencester the options won't affect me much. Finishing work at 5.30 does make the 5.36 bus difficult to Thames Head catch sometimes. An early bus from Coates to Stroud would be beneficial Thames Head Service Number 91/91A

Use Quedgeley- Gloucester City service 7 days for voluntary work. Appreciate cuts necessary, happy with changes Quedgeley Fieldcourt Mon-Sat as already a very good service. Sunday service already had cut-backs. Already reduced to use No. 10 to Lower Tuffley and walk mile and a half home. Cost efficient to combine both services on Sunday as the old night service did. The 91 is only bus to Slimbridge Wetlands Trust, although only on Sunday and Bank Holiday Mon. ** WWT Slimbridge is a very popular leisure destination. A bus from Gloucester to Slimbridge on a Sunday would be well used. We need a Sunday service. Berkeley Even out the timetables of the 91/A and the 14B better between Gloucester and Quedgeley to give an hourly service. Quedgeley Severn Vale

Rely on the Sunday bus to visit family. Cam East For leisure. Severn The numbers 12 and 91 should be merged into just one service, less confusing. Dursley Worse if you only have Dursley to Quedgeley and then have to change to another bus as it could be difficult to go Dursley further, or could miss connections. It is bad enough when the bus breaks down. Lack of buses will affect tourism. Visitors to the area like to use frequent buses as I hear often as a volunteer at Wotton-under-Edge Wotton Heritage Centre. Without a better, not worse bus service, people will be unable to shop, go to the hospital. Mainly for going shopping, but there is not at bus at 14.15 to get to Dursley before 15.00, i.e. for the children Cam West coming out of school. Wish the 91 bus ran a bit later on a Friday and Saturday so we could go to the cinema. Use the Sunday service to Frampton at 12.25 to go and 15.20 to return. Hucclecote Option 2 - needs reliable interchange at Quedgeley. Dursley again this form discriminates against me as i use the bus on a Sunday for going into town shopping. i feel that Quedgeley Fieldcourt more people would use it if it was more frequent. The current 91A bus service serves WWT Slimbridge and as such those of us who regularly go to Slimbridge on a Sunday would be deprived of the pleasure of visiting a local tourist attraction. Having said that my wife, myself and friends do not drive and cannot otherwise get there. Perhaps the bus company could be asked to use a bus with less seats so that GCC does not have to pay for too many empty seats We use the 91 to get to slimbridge bird park. At the moment this is only an option on a sunday. We would like the Quedgeley Fieldcourt service to go there in the week too. or at least on a saturday. We are not able to get there anyother way. Existing issue. Already unable to use bus pass before 9.30 a.m. (used to go to Gloucester at 9.10 a.m.) Slade May change in the future. Rodborough Now the bus passes for senior citizens cannot start until after 09.30. It makes it harder if you have early Rodborough medical appointments. Use this service if working late or rail services are disrupted. Uplands I am dependent on route 93 for regular visits to the eye clinic at Gloucester. I use the 18.00 service often. Nailsworth Neither option is good. This service needs saving from cuts. Would be unable to work lateish as I do now. Neither option makes sense. Churchdown St John's I need to travel to Stroud on business. Grange Please retain the bus service as it is my only means of travelling to Gloucester. Nailsworth You do not provide a category that recognises the need for old people to go out for recreation. Amberley and Woodchester Categories do not acknowledge active elderly could be isolated in rural settings without transport. Amberley and Woodchester There must be affordable transport for elderly people over the age of 65, or many, who live on their own, will Nailsworth end up never seeing people, as cars are expensive way of travelling. Do more to encourage people to use buses, not cut them out! Amberley and Woodchester Option 2 will not work for urgent hospital appointments. Westgate Parishioners would be affected - some OAPs have no other transport. Children to schools, etc. transport Upton St Leonards required - no doctor, shops available. OAPs with no transport will be affected - visits to doctor/dentist/healthcare, children to other than school Upton St Leonards activities. Flexible transport replacement, very vague information. Minchinhampton Until now times/routes of flexible services difficult to judge whether worse/better/same. Rodborough Essential service for me, chronically disabled, my GP is in Nailsworth. Central I would like to take this opportunity to explain how the withdrawal of the use of the bus pass until after 9.30 a.m. has impacted upon us and others who used to catch the 93 bus from Stroud for 9.10 a.m. We now catch the 10.10 a.m. which is usually late because it is now so overcrowded and presents the following problems:- 1. Some of the elderly have to stand on the bus because they cannot negotiate the stairs. ** The restricted use of the bus pass has much more detrimental effect than change of service. Trinity I travel 3 days out of 6 on service 93, but not Sunday. Minchinhampton Important for retired people to enjoy travelling by bus. Nailsworth Don't have the information regarding the options. A lack of evening service is a problem. Connections to train Nailsworth stations could be improved. Unable to attend any early morning, emergency or short notice appointments at the hospital. Rodborough Option 2 is a hopeless solution and it is very disappointing to have no bus pass. Farmhill and Paganhill Ridiculous. Farmhill and Paganhill I use it for days out, shopping, etc. Thrupp If we need to use the number 9, it needs to be made clear on the timetables 93 and 9. Farmhill and Paganhill You are overlooking the fact that a lot of elderly people rely on the bus services for pleasure and social outings. Minchinhampton You cannot expect students and commuters to book to get on every day - this is a busy well used service used Newent Central by school children, commuters and students. They need to be available hourly as people's hours of work and student timetables vary. This is a very difficult system having to comment on each individual service. Rodborough We only get a bus once an hour as it is so why are you even considering cutting our buses. See comments already written about cuts to 36 service. Rodborough I would really appreciate a bus service from Nailsworth to Stroud which gets into Stroud before 9 am on a Nailsworth reliable basis so I can start work at 9 am Journey departing from Forest Green at 14:35 calls at St. Peter's School, Tuffley, to pick up children and take Nailsworth them to Gloucester 'Bus Station Monday - Friday during school term time, stop this practise immediately as the lazy children have been sat on their backsides all day and the short (no more than 2 miles at most) into the City Centre will do them good and stop them making a nuisance of themselves to other passengers, especially as not all these children travel to the 'bus station. Anything that makes the journey from Gloucester to Stroud worse for workers is a backward step. Although I rarely use the last 93 bus at 1935 from Gloucester to Stroud, I need to know it is available as I do work later than 1800 from time to time. The 14 service currently runs later than the 93 but it does not get me close to home as there is no connecting service to Cashes Green after 12920. i do not mind which option is chosen as long as I can get home within an hour. Evening journeys could be merged with the 9 within Tuffely as a service 93A, makes sense. No chance of a later journey from Stroud to Gloucester? I live in Forest Green, go to school in Gloucester and work in Stroud. Without the 93, I can't go to school - I can't Nailsworth afford a car. I want to be a doctor. How can I get into university if I can't get to school? How can I get to to work, the doctor, do anything without the bus service? These proposed changes make me extremely angry, they could, literally, in my case, as I have no other way of getting to school except via this bus, ruin my life. You should be ashamed of yourselves. Have you not considered commuters? Clearly not, judging by the insensitivity displayed in the proposed changes. the proposals would restrict my mobility Stonehouse I live in Nailsworth and work in Gloucester and ideally I'd like the last bus from Gloucester to go all the way Nailsworth back to Nailsworth and not stop at Stroud. This would potentially make a huge difference to my working day. Currently if I leave late or miss the 6pm bus I have to get a bus to Stroud and then a taxi. Also a review of bus timings may be appropriate. Travel to and from school for my child is not ideal now and would be made worse. bus needs to run in the evenings to enable travel to Stroud for after college job, also on Sundays. The same to Nailsworth allow travel to the nearest cinema and any activities for under 18's in Stroud, as there is no cinema, swimming pool, bowling alley etc in Nailsworth, mainly just pubs and restaurants. Also the nearest school bus stop is a mile away from our home, and the public bus makes the link between the two. it's especially needed in the dark winter evenings and mornings. The bus fare to travel less than ONE MILE up the hill from Nailsworth to Forest Green is dis-proportionately expensive at £1.40 one way. Why is it allowed to be so expensive? Imagine if this rate were charged per mile for trips to Gloucester or Cheltenham from Stroud. It would be as expensive as a private taxi! There is a higher proportion of people on low income living in the Forest Green area of Nailsworth served by the no.93 bus. They are teenagers, older people, single parents, disabled and une mployed. They NEED the bus services as they can't afford a car and/or can't drive due to age or disability. There are no jobs there, or medical facilities, or shops. There is NO secondary school in Nailsworth. People HAVE to travel to reach those facilities. Please do not cut the bus service to Forest Green. Service Number 227

I rely on this bus for the doctor, dentist, hairdressers and shopping. I still have quite a walk after I get off the bus. I therefore, Thrupp don't want the 26 bus as would have to walk all the way from Brimscombe with my shopping. This regular but already limited service is of great value especially to elderly people in this area. I have recently started using it. Thrupp we are constantly encouraged to cut carbon emissions etc but now the bus service is threatened. Isn't this a contradiction of policies? This is a real threat to the independence of those without cars. It is hard to comment on whether changes would be better or worse without knowing the precise proposed changes. option 1 is preferable as this bus is used by quite a number of people. if there was a longer time between arriving in Stroud and the return journey, it could well mean that more people could use the service for shopping in town. Used for shopping, Foxmoor Lane to Stroud. Use for visiting family in Whiteshill and Ruscombe. Cainscross Radwick only has one bus and it runs 5 times daily, it would be horrendous without the service. Cainscross I don't drive, have no car and my husband is disabled, so we rely on the buses. There is no other bus Randwick Whiteshill and Ruscombe service to the village. We don't have a car so we rely on the bus and I cannot walk very far. Randwick Whiteshill and Ruscombe There have been times when no car is available and as a pensioner, financially will be unable to afford Randwick Whiteshill and Ruscombe one. Randwick Parish Council is not able to respond to the options in the consultation since any particular Randwick Whiteshill and Ruscombe option will suit some parishioners better than others. However, the Council deplores any reduction in service for rural communities where it is difficult to residents, especially the elderly, to attend essential services such as doctor surgeries, without incurring high taxi charges where bus services are not available. Three days per week would be okay, one journey during the day would not be acceptable. Require to Randwick Whiteshill and Ruscombe make doctor and dentist appointments. I live in Randwick and have to travel to London and return one day each week. The 12:35 bus from Randwick just misses the 13:05 London train. I walk to Cashes Green for the excellent #37 service but the uphill return is steep trek and I spend £8:00 on a taxi unless I am on the train that reaches Stroud at 17:22, when the 17:40 #230 service is a good match. I am often the only person on the bus at this time so it cannot be meeting a significant need. Please note, #230 drivers are courteous and helpful, as are most of the #37 drivers. I propose an alternative. There could be a more frequent (2 hourly?) minibus shuttle to connect with the 37 service at Cashes Green and/or the 93 at Whiteshill. The 230 overlaps unnecessarily with these good services and it does not need to enter Stroud if it could hub on the outskirts. Too far to walk to and from town and we have no shop in the village. I have a voluntary job in Stroud Randwick Whiteshill and Ruscombe on a Thursday which I would have to give up. I'm told they would miss me and I know I would definitely miss the companionship. If we only get one service a day how would we get home? I would miss going to Stratford Park with my lunch in the summer, and feel very isolated and cut off. Late in letting you know my views, just recovering from a broken arm. Service Number 232

Not used as often as service 23. Painswick Too many unknowns. ** I am dependent on close friends to visit me, or to provide transport when I wish to visit them, e.g. my Goddaughter and her The Stanleys family. If this service is taken off us, it would be a terrible shame, as it is so useful for dental appointments and shopping, etc. Just two and a half hours in Cheltenham from Winstone. We rely on the bus service. As a household with long term disability needs, we cannot afford to run a car. Painswick If Option 1 was implemented would the connecting bus wait if the first bus ran late? Painswick Both options are not a practical solution leaving me totally without transport to Cheltenham, especially the hospital. Monday afternoon is no good. If we are only to have two buses a week then we need a Tuesday and Friday morning. Shops Nailsworth are not fully stocked on a Monday. It will be very difficult if we have to book. We never know how we feel, or if we could manage on a particular day. Routes 46 and 93 should be kept as they are. Route 261 should be cut to 3 days, i.e. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday, twice Nailsworth a day, say 09.30 and 11.30, returning at 14.00, or later. This would leave ample time for passengers to carry out any business either in Nailsworth or Stroud. Several elderly people on this route have no other transport. It is a valuable asset for getting to and from Nailsworth with Nailsworth shopping and visiting the doctors, etc. Nobody goes down to Nailsworth just to use the library and that's not open very much. I won't be able to go shopping, doctors, Nailsworth dentist, or get connections with other buses for a hospital appointment. How can you get to a supermarket without a car on any other day? Minchinhampton It is essential to have a definite timetable in order to make prior arrangements. Minchinhampton Due to the lack of shops in Minchinhampton it is essential to shop in Nailsworth. Minchinhampton A service on another day gives me an extra choice. Two days is very limited. Amberley and Woodchester The bus in the mornings from Minchinhampton to Nailsworth just after 09.00 is usually nearly full. We want Minchinhampton this service to continue for various reasons. I am not a motorist and any reduction in services to this area would be an inconvenience. Minchinhampton Why change things when they work? Absolute madness. I use the bus 5 days a week. Minchinhampton Holy Trinity Church and to visit my sister. Nailsworth I need to use the 10.42 bus to Minchinhampton on a Wednesday and return at 14.30, to visit an elderly aunt Nailsworth who need help in the house? Elderly people need more than two opportunities to do shopping and attend to needs in Nailsworth. However, even a limited bus service is better than none, so option 1 is preferable to 2. Flexible transport replacement, very vague information. Minchinhampton Residents in Box and Minchinhampton who use the bus service are mainly elderly and would like a regular Minchinhampton service, as we have at present. Since obtaining my bus pass I am a frequent user of buses through Box to Stroud, Minchinhampton and Cirencester. I also use the Cheltenham and Gloucester services. My son can't afford to run a car and used public transport very frequently (he has recently moved to Germany on a temporary basis). ** Both options are worse, but Option 1 is the least worse. Enough time is needed in Nailsworth to do a week's Minchinhampton shopping, i.e. 1.5 hours. Both options are worse and unsatisfactory. A minimum of 1.5 hours is required for shopping in Nailsworth. Minchinhampton You are overlooking the fact that a lot of elderly people rely on the bus services for pleasure and social outings. Minchinhampton I think both options on offer are no good to the needs of the local community in Minchinhampton. Many Minchinhampton people without other forms of transport rely heavily on the local Minchinhampton to nailsworth service for shopping, employment and health reasons. It is stupid to want to scrap the quick and easy bus service to just a couple of days a week!
