Dr Taylor signed his Declaration of Acceptance of Office as Chairman. Dr Taylor called for a vote of thanks for Mrs J. As your Wars of the Roses chairs, Teo Lamiot and I have been working hard with our crisis director, Sofia Filippa, and SMUNC Secretariat members to make this conference the best yet. If you have attended SMUNC before, I promise that this year will be even more full of surprise and intrigue than your last conference; if you are a newcomer, let me warn you of how intensely fun and challenging this conference will assuredly be. Regardless of how you arrive, you will all leave better delegates and hopefully with a reinvigorated love for Model UN. My own love for Model United Nations began when I co-chaired a committee for SMUNC (The Arab Spring), which was one of my very first experiences as a member of the Society for International Affairs at Stanford (the umbrella organization for the MUN team), and I thoroughly enjoyed it. Later that year, I joined the intercollegiate Model United Nations team. -

South Staffordshire Council Local Plan Review Spatial Housing Strategy & Infrastructure Delivery October 2019 Representations on behalf of St Philips – Land at Bratch Common Road, Wombourne December 2019 Our Ref: A112233 Introduction These representations are submitted by WYG on behalf of St Philips Homes in respect of their land interests at Bratch Common Road, Wombourne, identified on the Plan at Appendix 1. St Philips has submitted representations to the Issues and Options stage of the South Staffordshire Local Plan Review (Appendix 2) and a copy of a Vision Document showing how the site at Bratch Common Road could be developed is enclosed for information (Appendix 3). The representations are structured to respond to the questions set out on the online consultation response form. They also make specific reference to the tests of soundness for plan-making set out at para 35 of the National Planning Policy Framework (NPPF). Specifically, these representations seek to test the proposed Spatial Housing Options in terms of whether they are: “a) Positively prepared – providing a strategy which, as a minimum, seeks to meet the area’s objectively assessed needs; and is informed by agreements with other authorities, so that unmet need from neighbouring areas is accommodated where it is practical to do so and is consistent with achieving sustainable development; b) Justified – an appropriate strategy, taking into account the reasonable alternatives, and based on proportionate evidence; c) Effective – deliverable over the plan period, and based -

The applicant has not taken into account db symmetry’s proposals which are coming forward for the Hinckley National Rail Freight Interchange (HNRFI) at junction 2 of the M69. This scheme is considered to be a Nationally Significant Infrastructure Project (NSIP). It should be noted that this proposal is located within 5 miles of Nuneaton which is in the West Midlands. On this basis the Hinckley proposal is perfectly positioned to absorb a percentage of the capacity deemed to be essential at Four Ashes to service the Arc of the West Midlands. Accordingly, the scale of the West Midlands Interchange could be decreased. Paragraph 2.1 (b) states that the need for a SRFI development in this quadrant of the West Midlands has been identified since, at least, 2004. Identified by the Strategic Rail Authority 2004, the Strategic Rail Authority, West Midlands Regional Logistics Study; and successive drafts of the West Midlands Regional Spatial strategy which included conclusions of the appointed Examining Panel. -

The online project Herbaria@home involves volunteers digitising the information from the herbarium sheets held by museums and universities. The results to date, relating to Staffordshire specimens, have been examined. Not all specimens were correctly identified by the original recorder. In particular the names applied to some Rosa and many Rubus specimens conflict with modern taxonomy. However, there are several important early records not included in this or earlier Floras. As a consequence, the previously thought earliest date for some taxa needs to be corrected; and a few significant later records need to be added. The resulting modified species accounts are given below.
