Description The White House is a historic former farmhouse located at the heart of the popular village of Dymock, with its excellent range of local facilities. Grade II Listed, the original property was built in the early 17th century and is believed to be the birthplace of John Kyrle, ‘the Man of Ross’, an English philanthropist famed for his work in Ross on Wye. The property was later rebuilt in about 1770 and extended and remodelled in the late 1800s. Mellow brick elevations under pitched tiled roofs adorn the northerly elevation with a mixture of rendered and exposed brickwork on the southerly elevation. There are an array of timber casement windows and a handsome timber panelled front door with pediment architrave.

The ground floor accommodation is centred by an impressive reception hall which features period lime stone tiling as seen in Cathedral, also worthy of note is an original spice cupboard. There is also access to the cellar and a guest cloakroom. The sitting room features an impressive fireplace, exposed beam work, original exposed elm floor and French doors leading to the garden. The dining room has a large inglenook fireplace including a wood burner with stone surround, prominent bay window and exposed wooden floorboards. The kitchen has been completely refurbished with bespoke new units, central island and the latest electric duel control Aga range cooker. There are also 2 large period bread ovens. Adjacent is a good sized breakfast/family room which features a painted original brick chimney breast, there is also access to the garden via a rear porch. The kitchen also provides access to an overly generous laundry/ utility room created from the former diary.

The first floor accommodation is accessed via a timber staircase leading to a long landing area. The master bedroom features a cast iron fireplace with timber surround, and a recently fitted en suite bathroom. There are four further bedrooms one of which has an original priest hole and family bathroom. At second floor level is an apartment with large bedroom, sitting room, newly fitted kitchen/diner and dedicated bathroom. The White House is accessed via a private driveway. This together with a further gated gravelled area provide parking for numerous vehicles. Attractive front lawns with mature hedging are to the front of the house. To the rear are mature gardens with lawned areas interspersed by mature planting beds and hedging. Within some areas are the original foundations of the former manor house. Beyond the garden is an orchard. There is also a covered terrace which is perfect for outside entertainment and large potting shed.

To the westerly boundary of the property is a substantial period brick barn providing covered storage and good further potential subject to planning permission. Within the northerly end of the barn is a games room and bar set up.
