I’d like to extend a warm welcome to all of the City Lionesses players, staff and fans.

Firstly I would like to say a thank you to everyone who has been very welcoming since I’ve been at the club. I look forward to meeting a few more today and hope we can drive attendances for London Bees games after a great World Cup Tournament which has hopefully caught the attention of everyone.

Pre season has been good, with lots of work behind the scenes to get the playing squad were we want for the season. I’m really happy with the group we have put together, retaining some excellent players and adding some real quality to the team. Pre season results and performances are around were we want them to be and gave us various challenges to overcome and provided the team and staff with good preparation for the season.

Today’s opponents will be a completely different side to last season when they played as Millwall Lionesses. The new club City Lionesses are really trying to make strides as a club and with the resources available they will be looking along with many others to gain promotion this season. The league will be ultra competitive I believe with 90% of teams adding 8/9 new players to there squads and added investment to clubs in general meaning each and every game will be really tough and we are looking forward to the challenge.

I’m really looking forward to the season and working at the club and thank you for all your support.

The first game of the season is here and we all can’t wait to get going. On a more personal note I’m very excited to have joined London Bees for the forth- coming season.

The facilities and staff here are fantastic. All the girls have been very welcoming and we have a really good team spirit which I’m grateful to be a part of. There are a lot of teams in the league that are open with their ambitions of gaining promotion. Our ambition for the season is to get London Bees to their highest league position we have ever had in the Championship.

Pre-season is all about gelling as a team and getting, it has gone very well with some good result and even better performances. We have had many Trialist’s as with any big club, but now we have our final squad together and I’m excited to get going.

Lastly I’d like to welcome all our fans to The Hive in what should be an exciting season in a very competitive league. I’ve played at The Hive several times in my career and I’ve always admired their fans for their support, so I’m excited to be on the right team today.

For our league, we have a lot more players coming here and they are making the competition even better. For me, that’s more exciting, it’s more challenging as a player”.

The day consisted of many different activities, games and tasks that helped the squad get to know each other a little better ahead of the new FA Women’s Championship season.

First of all the players came up with some squad rules for the season and what the punishment would be if the player’s broke the laws. Then all staff and players had to introduce themselves in a break the ice activity, this brought the squad together and helped the media team learn who all the new players were!!

The team played some classic board games, ping pong, Frisbee and some very obscure games as manager Lee Burch has modelled in the pictures. The whole day was a massive success and the spirit in the squad is high ahead of the new season. Bees fans have a great squad of players on and off the pitch this season ready to make their supporters proud! MATCH OFFICIALS
