1HE TRAININr.PROJECT

Last year, Kurt Jonassohn dre\Vup a propasal designed to increase familiari tv wi th the work of the ISA in regions where our work' is relatively little known. The propasal envisaged a training period of one year for a junior scholar interested in comparative and interna- tional research; such a person would be invited to \Vork in the secretariat, visit a few selected research com- mittees, and take a few relevant courses in one of the four universities located in ~bntreal. The propasal envisaged that such persons would return to their regian of origin, pass on to their colleagues relevant informa- tion on the work of the ISA, and remain a key contact in their region. Rafie, Secré bai.re exécut.if After having been discussed by the Executive Cornmittee, this propasal was submi tted to the Canadian Conmi ssi.on for UNESCO and to the Canadian International Development A la demande de Céline St-Pierre, éditeur de l'AIS, Agency for funding.

COL~UE 1NI'ERNATIONAL SUR LA CULIDRE POPULA1RE AU 20e S1ECLE
