Aerodrome Management Services Pty Ltd (AMS) is a proprietary limited Business Structure company owned by the AMS Trust. (ACN 406 443 766/ABN 50 406 443 766).

Aerodrome Management Services Pty Ltd is a professional company, with a Nature of the Business growing team of personnel capable of undertaking a comprehensive range of services in aerodrome management including construction, maintenance, inspections, training, compliance, fuel, security and management of aerodrome operations. AMS can offer a professional skill mix providing comprehensive services to a broad range of tasks. AMS works at all levels in ‐related works from investigations, operations, consulting, inspecting and surveying, origination of pilot documentation through to construction as the principal contractor. The company was established in May 1996, having operated as a registered Company Origin business from 1990. Managing Director Kevin Thomas is an Engineering Surveyor and has been involved with aerodrome operation, management and construction for over 35 years. Engineering – Investigation, design, construction and maintenance of all Services airside facilities including pavements, surfacing, apron layouts and lighting systems; Regulatory – Airport certification and ongoing compliance, CASA‐ approved inspectors to carry out Annual Technical/Safety Inspections (at over 100 annually throughout Australia); Training – Registered Training Organisation conducting Aerodrome Reporting Officer/Works Safety Officer training on‐site or public courses in ; Electrical – AMS is an Electrical Contractor in WA, Queensland and South Australia and can provide Annual Electrical Inspections as well as the supply and installation of runway lighting using in‐house resources. AMS also has a CASA‐approved pilot to conduct runway and approach guidance lighting inspections; Linemarking – AMS carries out linemarking with in‐house resources; Airport Equipment Supply – AMS can supply marker cones, windsocks, airband radios, ground service equipment and most other airport equipment; Security – AMS can provide security advice, Transport Security Plans and passenger screening services (currently at Geraldton, Onslow, Weipa and Paraburdoo). AMS can also issue Aviation Security Identification Cards (ASIC); Airport Management – AMS has full time managers at six sites across the north of Australia (WA, NT and Queensland), including being the Certificate Holder for Halls Creek Airport in WA. Shortly we will manage Barrow Island Airport, and be the Registered Operator of four Community airports in the NT. We can provide full time or relief management/reporting officers;

Refuelling – AMS carries out aircraft refuelling at four airports including Services Broome; and Other Services – AMS has an understanding of and experience in providing services with specialist (CASA‐regulated) suppliers such as aviation weather stations and instrument approaches.

The AMS team has broad aviation experience, and includes staff that are or have been pilots, airport managers, engineers, electricians, ground handlers and aircraft refuellers.

Aerodrome Management Services is active within the aviation community, Industry Improvement and staff participate in many industry forums aimed at sharing knowledge and experience, and improving the wider aviation/airport community. and Participation Nat Thomas is the Small Regional Airports Director on the Board of the Australian Airports Association (AAA); AMS is contributing to the CASR Part 139 review that CASA are currently undertaking, regarding standards for aerodromes; AMS regularly presents on aerodrome operations and construction at AAA events; AMS provides input to and attends aviation security industry forums; AMS supports the RFDS by providing aerodrome advice and assistance. Recently we updated the RFDS Western Operations Airstrip Standards documentation and drawings at no cost.

AMS and our staff hold memberships of: Memberships Australian Airports Association, as both airport (through being the certificate holder at Halls Creek Airport) and a corporate member; Institution of Mining and Engineering Surveyors; The Western Australian Institution Of Surveyors (Foundation Member); Engineers Australia; Chartered Practicing Accountants (CPA) Australia; and The Chamber of Commerce and Industry (CCIWA).
