MEET A 100 YEAR-OLD VOTER!

BEAUFORT RIDES FOR BIDEN! On October 10th Carteret County Democrats rode through their historic county seat, Beaufort, waving signs and banners promoting the Biden/Harris campaign and our entire Democratic ticket. These colorful pictures were made by Dail Bridges.

FROM MANTEO This mass of Dare County Democrats gathered at Jennette’s Pier in Dare County to kickoff their “CLEAN THE BEACH FOR BIDEN” event. Half the Democrats went north and half went south. They collected dozens of bag of trash – thereby, beautifying Dare County. They dedicated this event to Vice President Joe Biden because he is the only presidential candidate who cares about the environment!

TO MURPHY! Cherokee County Democrats held an OPEN HOUSE WEEK to celebrate the Grand Opening of their new County Party Headquarters in Murphy. In the picture above Rodger Sherril and Phillip Snyder are hanging the banner on the front of the headquarters.

Strong 11th District candidate for US Congress, Moe Davis, was one of the featured speakers at the Grand Opening. Moe Davis is retired Air Force Colonel who was the Chief Prosecutor at Guantanamo Bay. In 2007 he stood up AGAINST the Bush administration by REFUSING to use evidence obtained by torture believing it was both immoral and illegal and that the evidence was unreliable. Recent polls show this congressional race is tied! His website is: MoeDavisForCongress.com

Allen held this Senate seat from January, 1997 through January, 2003. He served with distinction and was truly “The Peoples’ Man.”

Allen and his family recently worked at a Food Bank helping pack food for distribution.

Allen’s wife, Cassie, and some of her friends fixed thousands of personal letters supporting his campaign.

DURING HIS SIX YEARS IN THE GENERAL ASSEMBLY, ALLEN COMPILED THIS IMPRESSIVE LIST OF ACCOMPLISHMENTS:

BURKE COUNTY DEMOCRATIC WOMEN GIVE FREE BURGERS & HOT DOGS AT VOTERS RALLY! On October 17th Burke Democrats set up tents to distribute free burgers and hot dogs at the Farmers Market in Morganton. They drew a large turnout of voters!

SEC Member Bill Satterwhite relished playing the role of Uncle Sam at the Voters Rally. He began fulfilling this role years ago when he welcomed Veterans to the annual Veterans Luncheon in his hometown of Rutherford College in Burke County. He welcomes about 400 Veterans every year. Bill is one of Burke County’s most active Democrats.

ANDREW MACKIE & WALTER SMITH! Yadkin County Democratic Party Secretary Andrew Mackie (left) and County Chair Walter Smith are proudly representing the Party at the Early Voting site in Yadkinville in this picture. Andrew reports that so far they have not felt any hostility from the GOP members. The Yadkin Party has mailed out thousands of letters to voters and has made an all-out effort to get Democrats to the polls.

Getting a big Democratic turnout in GOP counties like Yadkin is a vital part of the victory drive of North Carolina Democrats. Every vote in every county counts toward our statewide totals.

GARRETT LAGAN AND VILLA BREWER HONORED AS RECIPIENTS OF LISTON B. RAMSEY AWARDS! Precinct leaders honored! Garrett Lagan and Arvilla (Villa) Brewer were recognized for their many hours of work in the Alarka and Almond precincts as Swain County’s recipients of the Liston B. Ramsey Awards. The Ramsey awards have been presented annually for many years. They honor former longtime Speaker of the NC House of Representatives, Liston B. Ramsey, from Madison County in the 11th Congressional District. 11th District Chair Kathy Sinclair announced the awards during a virtual meeting because this year’s Ramsey Banquet was cancelled by Covid-19. Swain County Chair Luke D. Hyde presented the awards as Garrett and Villa were helping others put out signs for Biden/Harris and other Democratic candidates just before the start of early voting. This publication invites other 11th District counties to send pictures of their award recipients so they can receive statewide recognition.

NEW HANOVER COUNTY DEMOCRATS! There was a party atmosphere on Saturday, October 17th as a mask-wearing crowd gathered at the corner of Military Cutoff and Eastwood roads to show their support for the Biden/Harris presidential ticket and other Democratic office seekers. This group has been gathering at the northeast corner of the intersection near Starbucks for the last several weeks. Rock music played through a loudspeaker as rally goers waved to passing motorists who honked in support. The Biden/Harris group easily outnumbered a gathering of Trump/Pence supporters at the opposite side of the intersection. The rallies were fueled by grassroots supporters who met in a Facebook group named New Hanover & Brunswick Women for Biden. Heather Cwiklinski said she noticed the mini-Trump rally a few weeks ago and decided she needed to respond. “I said there’s got to be more people like me out there who are backing Biden.” She said. Her first trip to the corner included her and a few friends. “Then it just kept growing,” she said. These Biden/Harris rallies will continue each Saturday afternoon from 4:00PM to 6:00PM for two more weeks leading up to the election. (From the New Hanover County Democratic Party newsletter)
